Wow.
I see a player who makes a pass to his right, upping his elbow to do it, and a Swiss player coming right on it.
Not intentional at all, you can't give a game misconduct like that.

Well, the fact is, in the same movement he takes the puck towards him *and* rams his elbow hard in Helbling's face.

So obviously the Swiss will say "that's a bad elbow" and the French will say "he was taking the puck towards him" and both will be right. But IMO you have to be in control of yourself. Just like if you can't control your stick and it hits someone you get called.

Things seem to be snowballing for France - too bad as they have a solid team and some developing players.

Was hoping they could beat Roman Josi and the 19 others. Josi is awesome though - just awesome.

1. If you call a penalty, you have to give a game misconduct. Don't know about the rules unintentional or not. If you hit someone with your stick (not intentional) you also get a penalty.

2. If you'd have to call this while seeing it live, without any replay whatsowever, you'd call the same.

To me, it's unfortunate for Helbling, but that's not a penalty. Helbling is running into the elbow, Treille is taller and never see him coming.

EDIT : I saw it live, I'm in the rink.

I can feel the equaliser coming... Seriously haven't ever seen such a dreary Swiss team...

The refs are definitely helping us more than France. France's first line is out after 15 minutes. We have luck on our side (2 posts for France) and *still* all we're doing is ekeing out a 2-1?

Damien Brunner with his 2nd Andrea Pirlo imitation of the night :D

Well, a win is a win. Not a very good game though.
Ambühl and Josi were great, Fiala showed some skill too.

Obvious offside... We can really say thanks to the refs for saving us from relegation in this game...

Seriously? I mean we played like crap, but one wrong call does not make a whole game... Treille should have gotten 2+2 and thats it, even the last one was not an obvious offside...

France is en route for relegation group

Good luck Switzerland but this is a poor game against a French Team without its first line (no NHLer no KHLer)

Fiala will be a beast in some years.(+ responsible defensively + power + maturity)

Josi was great. Genon was ok.

If we reach the QF ... it will be a miracle or a miraculous improvement.

yes i agree really poor game from the swiss!

france win vs. austria and latvia and france will stay up .

video confirmation : no offside

Switzerland has shown nothing again.
Just a wonderful goal by Josi :handclap:

France will obviously fight for relegation now, with very important games against Austria & Latvia.

Btw was no offside

then really good pass from Brunner. Today he has been effective and energetic.. Good, because clearly Switzerland needs his skills.
gaah I hate when he wastes his talent in pointless plays, but when he is focused he can be deadly.

Anyway, Josi is the team and Fiala is on the right way to become a great player. The others have to grow some balls soon because is quite embarrassing how they let France get back in the game.
