Btw, I don't remember a final game Finland-Russia in a WHC. Mostly the Finns faced Russia in WHC or Olympics tournaments already in quarterfinal or semi-final but not in a final game.

Is it the first time Finland plays in a final game against Russia in a WHC?

I believe it is. Commentators said so, and I don't at least recall a single instance.

Joffrey, Cersei, Walder Frey, Meryn Trant, Tywin Lannister, Red Woman, Berik Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, Ilyn Payne, The Mountain, Russia.

Jagr is still the man. He wanted to play in WHC and wanted to win even though he has already everything. I respect it a lot. Maybe he was frustrated because some other Czechs didn't show same kind of will. If Czechs had won, I would've rooted for them in the final.

Great win from Team Finland. It'll be a bit ironic if "KHL-Jokerit" will win Russia in the final.

Wow... that was awful from Czech team.
Congrats to Finland, better team wins.

It seems like we didn't want to play against Russia tomorrow :P

How did Erik Haula look? Has he been putting up any points?

Just 0+1. He plays in the 2nd line, lots of skating, grinding, several quality passes that place him above a lot of the rest of the team. You can see he has the skillset to do more but his linemates haven't been that great in this tournament. In this game he was a little unnoticeable. I didn't keep tabs for this game but in the previous games he played first PK, and did good, important work in that role.

Congrats to Finland team! They were clearly the better team tonight.

Czechs played without energy, boring hockey, useless tactics...I can understand why Jags was so pissed.

Lets hope Finland will stop Russian machina and we will beat Sweden tommorrow.

And saved a sure goal, which would've made a difference because the game was tight there. But overall, a bit unnoticeable yeah.

Haula is doing just fine. That line, Komarov-Jokinen-Haula, does not have a creative player/playmaker so they are just grinding it out most of the time. He's been energetic and made an important defensive play in today's game.

Is there ancient Finnish? Semi serious question...

Well there is the Uralic proto-language that is the mother language for all the languages in the Finno-Ugric language family which have 200-400 reconstructed words that are surprisingly close to their modern Finnish equivalents. They are words fit for a Paleolithic hunter-gatherer society, like 'bow', 'eye', 'dog'.

On top on them the modern Finnish language is technically speaking layers of loan words from Indo-Iranian, Baltic, Germanic, Slavic etc. languages that had to be adopted in face of new fancy technological innovations like 'hammer', 'sheep', 'hundred'...

So, originally there was a word for 'ice' and 'wood' but not for small rubbery things which is a foreign thing and therefore it was considered safest to hit such thing on ice with a wooden stick, and fast forward to this day and here we are. See, no off-topic. ;)
