After watching the management team being interviewed after one of the worst performances in Canada's history at the tournament one has to wonder why those hillbilly clowns were chosen to manage the team.

Could be the other "hillbilly clowns" have risen to their level of incompetence in running Hockey Canada.

Was about to come report this and couldn’t figure out how you posted this so long ago… realized I’m watching a re-run lmao

He was trying an open ice dangle and got tripped mid-move and went down hard
I haven’t seen it but I’ll assume shoulder requiring surgery.
;)

Until we make the decision on the 1st round draft pick from the Dadonov fiasco, I am convinced that the Curse of Pierre will hang over this team like a veil of stench.
That stench will last longer than that. We are trying to recover from Dorion's past f***ups and the loss of a number 1 draft pick will have longer impacts.

Yakemchuk following up a great season last yr with a good start to his season this yr until getting this injury, hopefully he'll be back soon & back to form. He's going to be a good player for Ottawa.

I like a lot of the guys that Dorion's smell left..... like most of the team

Pronmam today had an article that ranked Yakemchuk the 28th best player in the world under 23. Interestingly he highlighted that his two way impact has stalled this year. His PPG is up over last year albeit maybe not at the clip people would expect but perhaps this can easily be explained by him trying to play better in his own end. Just guessing

Notable D he was ranked ahead of (in order):

Silayev
Parekh
L Hutson
Edvinsson
ASP
Mintyukov
Reinbacher
Bonk

All D he was behind (in order):

L Hughes
Sando
Buium
Dickinson
Power
Levshunov
Faber

He had him 10th overall four months ago, ahead of everyone there aside from L. Hughes and Levshunov. 3rd best D U23 in the league. Which is batshit crazy.

He’s come off the Yakemchuk high he was on last year and prior to the season starting, he hasn’t been too impressed with him this year, I guess relative to his, unrealistic, expectations.

Pronman also adjusted his expectations, as well as his skill grades. Don’t think it means all that much, his projections and grades were crazy last year, don’t think he’s gotten any smarter in the last 4 months, his evaluations always need to be taken with a gigantic grain of salt

He eliminated a tier in the newest instalment, Yak would be in tier 2 in Sept that tier was eliminated there as well.

Went to see the Hitmen this weekend. Interesting to say the least.

I've watched Yak 5 times live now and he's had really good games and so-so to bad games. Sunday was the worst I've seen him look. The Hitmen won 7-0 over the Rockets (that team looked BAD) but Yak was clumsy, disengaged and disinterested. He'd go through the motions on a 45 second shift and then coast back to the bench without a care in the world. He offered up several bad pizzas that would have been in his own net if he hadn't been playing a Junior A team and showed next to no snarl in the defensive zone. Made fancy attempts (really just lazy) in the ozone that resulted in nothing.

I don't know if he just didn't care because the Rockets are so bad, or if he's nursing something (didn't seem to be), or if there is something going on in the locker room but this was by far the worst I've seen him play the last two years. Really disappointing.

On a draft related noted Ben Kindel still looks like a 13 year old but man is he a smart player who plays all over the ice. If he fills out (or even grows more) he could be a two-way star in the NHL. Hopefully our scouts do their due diligence on this guy.

Yeah that’s interesting. There is definitely at least a bit of mystery around yak’s overall game.
But nothing apparent when he was here in the preseason.
