USA survived. The color analyst is BSing. USA really didn't start skating until about halfway through the second. Once they got going they were OK. They won't have the luxury of surviving going forward if they don't hunker down and focus.

The current champion comes from that region. Not directly, but pretty close: It's only spoken in a few valleys in a very mountainous (spelling?) region.
Don't think its the popularity, rather lack of icerinks. They have some pretty good skiers and cross-country skiers, as you can do that there by basically going outside.

Plugs? Eichel, Larkin, Coyle, Nelson, Moses, Lee, Krug, Jones, Faulk ... are plugs? It's not that surprising, USA has been playing very well in this tournament. Congrats USA.

Canada-USA would be great final match or obviously Canada-Russia with Ovechkin possibly joining for the semi-final and final match.

These "plugs" won their group and beat Finland, Russia, and Slovakia. And now they're deservedly headed to the semis.

You shouldn't be surprised when when USA's so-called "plugs" beat Switzerland. The Swiss "A" team is basically 5-6 legit players and a bunch of plugs.
