Is it an international rule now that on a hit, if a player in injured, the player who hit him is kicked out? To add fuel to the fire, this will completely abolish any control they have over the rest of the game.

I just don't know what to say about this. I get tired of the "IIHF refs are awful" claims all the time - but with what we've seen this tournament the old maxim remains true.

Nope, but if a hit is penalized and the player is deemed injured, it's an automatic major.
