if only Japan produced someone even halfway decent offensively they might promote someday ,huh?

They were so close this year. Beating Slovenia (!), but lost the last game on shootout to Hungary.
Had they won the shootout they would have gotten 1 more point than Austria and be in elite next year!

We might play them next year in Division 1A, so good thing we can check out their goalie!

Yeah...that is the upside. The down side is ofcourse germans.

Domenica not included ofcourse.

You mean since apparently all the “bearded ladies“ are found way down in Austria :sarcasm:

Anyway Jutland is so overrun with Germans in summertime you don't know the difference, but then again so is Copenhagen with Swedes.

if you unfortunately fall to division 1A japanese might be a bit bitter and wanting a revenge for that last time :D

Yeah, its similar hair...only difference is how well they can take drinking.

Not rly :) Just went out and got some air after 2:0....

Denmark struggles cause of bad coaching. U got some big and physical players and u dnt use that advantedge. U should play more North american.

Janne isn't a bad coach. But you could tell he was struggling a bit with communication during the shifts. I think he's going to settle in well but it takes time to get to know the players and establish a new system.

That last part makes me cringe..

This is just horse defecation. We have little periods of solid play, sticking to the game plan and getting close to a reward... and then someone usually makes a bonehead play resulting in a penalty or we just lose it and goes back to turtleling up the mid zone both with or without the puck. This tournament's gonna be tough. I can't count the times I thought of that tweet where Frans Nielsen says he's looking forward to joining the team. Oh the face-offs, the boxplay, the transition game. I'm gonna go yell at someone and be back Tuesday - fresh in mind and spirit and hope.

Thanks to broderfolket for a good match and a good threat. And congrats on the top spot in group for as long as you get to keep it :D You can start focusing on getting in the QF. I'll be rooting for ya :)

Finns have it easy. take a tallink from Helsinki to Talinn get as much booze as yyou can cary-profit and it's way cheaper that way than to buy alcohol in Finland. I swear to god Everytime I visit Talinn there are legions of drunk finns.

Estonians must love the Finns. Who wouldn't want drunken foreigners on their doorstep every day of the year. Although I remember going on vacation to Danemark when I was a child and we just took our alcohol with us because we knew if was going to be crazy expensive to buy it there.

You're lucky you wrote that addendum. Very lucky. We "Fleichfachverkäuferinnen" don't understand jokes (much like you probably don't understand Fleischfachverkäuferinnen).

Why? Denmarks best players are at their best when they play a more Direct North american form of hockey.

I agree, but the NA players are not available until just before the start of the tournament. Mike Sirant tried it a decade ago with bad results. Now that we have more people over there it might be time to try it again. However Karlsson deserves a fair shot at this. Lets finish the tournament before we jump to any conclusions

Most of those players played in Sweden before going to NA and did just fine here. That European hockey isn't physical is a myth. Sure, playing simple and crashing the net has it's merits but you shouldn't stifle players with talent.

Jannick Hansen and Boedker would fit better in a North american system. Same goes for Lauridsen Brothers. Larsen is the only NHL player that plays better in europe than na.

Jonas Holos 34:53 TOI :amazed: I know he is almost irreplaceable, but stil..wow!

That is the most TOI I have ever seen in my life (considering matches which ended in 60 minutes).

Jesper Duus had 43 in one game in the wc for Denmark and played 40+ in most games that tournament.

Takes nothing away from holos. Duus was a machine

Not just that, but he played 29-30 mins on saturday and then almost 35 min sunday. Thats extreme

A real viking battle...too bad I missed this game.

Now Norway should beat Sweden and become the best hockey nation in Scandinavia ;)

Didn’t see this one coming actually. Without key players like Tollefsen, Holtet and Thoresen I thought that this year we wouldn’t get the win against Denmark, but a great team effort proved me wrong. And always nice to score on the PP, which was a key in this game.

Now we can start dream of a QF? Well…… I know it’s a long way to clinch that last QF-spot. But if we can get a win against France and maybe steal a point (or even two?) against Slovakia, then maybe, just maybe.

We are allrdy a part of "The big 3 Scandinavian"

Since Scandinavia consists of; Sweden, Norway, Denmark and all the non-hockey islands, Norway sure are! ;)

It would be quite another feat if you did mean "The big 3 Nordics", since that includes our easternmost neighbor - Finland!

Great game btw, heia Norge!
