Yeah, Russia - you got this, no need to push yourselfs with this one. Save the energy for the big dogs.

Also, apparently Hudacek is in the net for this one.

Right... riiiight.... why should you play Switzerland in the quarterfinals, when you can eliminate the Czechs on their home ice instead, or that powerful arch-enemy, the Swedes? Just think of the glory! A quarterfinal win against the Swiss would be just "meh". :sarcasm:

By winning Russia (or some other game left) would you advance?

If the slovaks will be Nice to us, then maybe we will be Nice to them :P

We've already been nice to you by giving you the win, no? ;) The play-off chances for Slovakia are very slim at this point, especially because Norway basically has nothing left to play for, do they? Do they really care if they finish 5th or 6th in Group "B"? Whereas Belarus will be top-motivated in that game, to clinch the play-off spot. So I'm very skeptical about Norway's help for Slovakia on Tuesday. :(

PS: Slovakia also has the tiebreaker against Belarus, so all we need is 1 win for us (or 3 points combined in 2 games) and two defeats by Belarus (against Finland and Norway) to get into the play-offs.

The game start is 8:15 in Central Europe. I agree it should have been 7 p.m., the standard hockey-game start time, especially at the weekends.

(I understand the 8:15 starts on weekdays. They need 4 hours between 2 games, so starting the first afternoon game at 4:15 local time is really the first so-so reasonable start time, although most people work from 8 to 5 on weekdays, of course.)

J. Hudáček (Laco) - MeszároÅ¡, Graňák, Jurčina, Sersen, Ďaloga, MikuÅ¡, Jánošík - L. Hudáček, Surový, Gáborík - Tatar, Viedenský, Miklík - Jurčo, Bližňák, Bartovič - Pánik, Kopecký, Dravecký - LuÅ¡ňák

Today Tretyak said that czechs in the quaterfinals on home ice are more dangerous than Canada. He hints that we should take 1st place. For him there is no worse thing than to lose in QF

I am kinda inclined to believe that if you play really well and have a 100% offensive effort in a game on Slovak team you get to play with Bartovic and Bliznak as a punishment by the coaches.:sarcasm:

or end up in the fourth spot and avoid meeting those terrible czechs in the qf.

It's weird Hudáček is in goal, although he can play very well, too. Laco has been amazing so far, though, and he's a long-time KHL goalie, so he would seem like a logical choice against Russia.
