Don't make assumptions from one game. In WC's Finland ALWAYS has a very non-NHL-dominant team. We usually do quite ok.

Well when even our best Liiga (olympic level) players decline, you know its not going to be easy tournament. Without even talking about NHL guys..
 
Yeah, finally. We win when we are a clearly better team.

Finns looked awful, only KHL line showed something.

Sure. Doesn't make my point any less true though

Our Roster is good enough to do WAY WAY better than this.

tbh this score makes us look a bit better than what we were.
 
Many Finns are crying how we lost to Latvia. I am not suprised at all. Our team is very bad, we took far too many penalties and Latvia deserves to win.

They who call our team to Jokerit.. Please, no.. It's Leijonat, now and forever.

Latvia beat Switzerland in the olympics and almost beat Canada. Latvia is soon one of the best hockey countries. Congratulations to them.

Now spit this lost out and tomorrow beat the big bear Russia!

I might be wrong, but I don't think a European national team has ever been led by an active NHL coach in recent history.

One of the reasons why is that the coach can't be a part of the team and the training camp during the NHL season. We're lucky that the Sabres didn't make the play-offs. What if they do next year? OK, maybe not next year. But you get the idea.

And in Europe the national teams (and its reserves) come together a number of times every year.

So I'm not sure it's going to work very well.
 
This whole team is a sign of the cancer that is Jokerit. This KHL thing is poison. Team selection was biased and horrid. So sad for Finland.

you are acting as of we iced a roster full of nhl superstars when in reality we had abbout as much khl and nhl players
 
Seriously, opinions, please! Do I have a brain tumor to think this was a very uptempo intense game? Or is this poster right? Players were at each others throats after every whistle. A lot of hits flying around. wtf?

Can't make that assumption after one game. You think this was an acceptable performance from this team? They can do much better.
 
Team Jokerit was just as bad as i was afraid of. If you choose 3 lines of 4th line grinders and think that they will score, then you are in deep waters.

Tomorrow we lose 0-6 to Russia and the rest of tournament will be just matter of survival.

This is not Team B or Team C... This is Team Finland D. And im not talking about losing to Latvia. Im talking about player quality. Has beens and Luga grinders... Jesus...
