For the most part it was a very intense, high-tempo game with lots of physicality and bodies flying around.

There were some periods (notably during and shortly after the series of PPs by Latvia in the 2nd period) when the tempo decreased substantially, so you might be making an assumption based on that about the entire game.

No, it really was not an intense game. You really have to do better in 1-on-1 situations. There just was no battle.

This was as close to a Stanley Cup playoff game as you can get in the IIHF WHC, both these teams will be having an excellent tournament.

Southern Estonia beating Northern Estonia sure was an upset, but this was a fantastic game, great entertainment.

Since Canada lost to France, it's once again not really important to win your Round Robin group, the QF opponent will be a crapshoot again this year

Word is Southern Estonia wants to hold a referendum to join Latvia so that their hockey team no longer sucks. Government sources have already announced the results of next Saturday's vote to be 93% in favour.

Congrats to LV on a well deserved win! About time they beat Finland and win their first game of the Championship (0-18 is not a nice record to have).
