Every time I see him on the ice I keep having flashbacks thinking he is Cammalleri, they look a lot alike on the ice especially since they are roughly the same size and both wore #13.

I agree that he kinda looks like Cammalleri when he skates....except when he goes into the corners to fight for the puck..then he doesn't look like Cammalleri at all.

He's got more jam in his game than those two, but I also did think of Gomez while watching him play in certain aspects.

He's a lot more gritty than either these two, in my opinion.

I think he's somewhere in between Drouin and Gallagher in terms of playstyle. I like his game.

Gomez actually was a lot grittier with the devils when he was younger. He used to go to the dirty areas often and the year he scored his 33 goals a lot of them were in-close of the garbage variety. But it seemed like they day he got that huge contract he began to be more and more of a perimeter player & (not surprisingly) he became less and less effective. It may be coincidence with the timing - maybe as he got older he didnt want to take the punishment but he definitely was very soft by the time he got to Montreal.

Max Domi has been playing really well. The team desperately needed an other quality center and he's up for the challenge.

Tie Domi remains a dirtbag in my mind. Dirty, dirty player without any respect for other players. Different era though and he was a gamer, I'll give him that. I'll never get how he managed to receive so many punches and still go at it. Maybe the shape of his skull. Or his face was made of rubber.

This. Max is soooo much more skilled than his father.

Tie was a very dirty player and not a particularly good fighter - he could take a punch like nobody I ever saw (aside from maybe Tiger Williams) though, so i think that had a lot to do with his longevity.

He's been better at center than I thought he'd be for sure. Thought it was going to be another Drouin at center experience, but he's been defensively stable.

Some Arizona fans didn't think he'd be good at the position either since his play improved a lot when moved to LW last year. He and Drouin seem to be developing some chemistry, and he fits into the new team concept of all speed, all the time.

He needs to work on face-offs, but so does everyone else on this team.

His shot really does suck and he doesn't get to the net as much as he should for a guy with that kind of speed. You can see why he only scored 9 goals. But, he has impressive vision and excellent passing skills.

I think he can put up 50pts probably 10g, 40a. Don't think he'll hang around PPG which he is close to now, but you never know. Drouin and Lehkonen will need to produce more than they are now for that to happen.

Max is a much more likeable person than his father.
Tie's personality certainly leaves a lot to be desired but you have to give credit where it's due. For someone with limited skills he ended up with decent offensive numbers, specially for someone known only for his fighting. And effort is certainly not something he lacked in. Wish more of our players had that drive he had. If Max has that stubborn drive that Tie had, he should end up with a decent career.

Yeah he scored 12 goals one year.

Playing well, please continue.

Did you see how enthusiastic he was, following his first goal as a Hab? He looked like a kid in a candy store.

Crazy how our fanbase turns on a player for no reason other than he's no longer with us. First Subban, now Galchenyuk. Let me be your voice of reason here.

Galchenyuk was skilled and put up 151 points in his last 3 seasons (225 games) with us despite always being misused, he was clearly our 2nd best forward after Pacioretty and on the upswing. I'm happy Domi is working out for us, and I love him already...but that doesn't make Galchenyuk trash all of a sudden.

A good deal of the historical negativity about Chucky (and others) is from posters who become irate and ultra defensive when "Habs players" are criticized. Except for the ones they don't like, of course.

I don't if everyone knows what I'm about to tell you. When Max was going to play for the Canadian Juniors I saw a video on him. At around 11-12 years old he was told he had diabetes and the only question he had for the doctor was not is it dangerous, will I die from it, but rather can I continue to play hockey. The doctor said sure, do you Bobby Clarke. Max said no so the doctor explain who he was. And from that day he change his hockey sweater number from Sundin's who was his idol to Bobby Clarke's.

And that video told me all I needed to know about this kid. This kid lives and breaths hockey.

Pretty awesome story, good for Max.

This. Max is soooo much more skilled than his father.

It's an evidently unfair comparison.

His father was a skilled fighter in an era where enforcers, staged fights and face-punching were valued.

Tie Domi played 1020 games, produced 245 points and his calling card was 3515 PIMs.

Anyone who doesn't fight in today's NHL and who can produce at a greater rate than 245/1020 is "so much more skilled" than Tie Domi. And that's a long list of NHL players.

For an enforcer, he used to really try to work on his game so he wouldnt be a liability.

I remember him doing a lot of work on his skating and shot. A lot. So much so that he became a guy who would score 10-15 goals and 20+ points some seasons. With like, 200-300PIMs.

I do wonder what Max thinks of the Belinda Stronach story though. I'd definitely try to use it on the ice if I played against him.
