I'd take the player that's been playing and actually producing in the KHL since 17.

Michkov has outproduced Demidov every league they've played going all the way back to 16-17.

Michkov
District cups - U15 17-18: 16 points and 8 goals in 6 games
District cups - U15 18-19: 20 goals and 30 points in 8 games
District cups U16: 23 goals and 35 points in 8 games
Russia U18 Hlinka Gretzky 8 goals and 13 points in 5 games

Demidov
District cups - U15: 5 goals and 19 points in 8 games
District cups - U16: 4 goals and 19 points in 17 games
Russia U18 - Hlinka Gretzky (same year as Michkov though to be fair): 2 goals and 5 points in 5 games.

Michkov will be the better goalscorer, but Demidov will be more complete than him. Better hands, better defensive play and better playmaking ability.

Both have superstar potential.

Michkov is talked about like he's potentially the next superstar but he also has to get through a lot of hurdles to get there: overcoming his size and speed, his commitment to playing professional NA-style hockey, etc.

Demidov has fewer hurdles. I love Michkov as a prosect and will follow him very closely. I don't think we can predict where he or Demidov end up until we see them on NHL ice. We'll know with Michkov soon.

Michkov has got to the one of the most underappreciated prospects I’ve ever seen. Just a couple years ago he was been talked about as being on a similar level as Bedard

The idea that he was on the same level as Bedard looks bad right now.
In his d+1 season. Michkov produced at a 0.87 ppg playing in the KHL, whereas Bedard produced at a 0.90 ppg playing in the NHL.

Not making any statement here, but comparing PPGs like that between the two leagues - which have vastly different scoring levels and cultures - isn't really a good argument.

There were over 30 PPG players in the NHL, vs 7 in the KHL. Bedard played nearly 20 minutes a game vs 17 for Michkov.

The reasons the two were compared is because Michkov was doing stuff basically never seen before in Russia for his age.

jordan Weal scored 77pts in 66 khl games

Just because it’s more rare doesn’t mean it’s more impressive

Michkov is safer bet to be better but hopefully both become stars. I hope Reinbacher becomes good or else the idea of having the duo will haunt for a long time.

You’re fooling yourself if you think Michkov won’t score at the same rate with no defensive plays needed from him and him playing every offensive opportunity like Bedard
