considering he was considered second only to bedard (or even as good) doesnt shock me. woe to those who didnt take him when they had the chance.,
Not so fast and even though I would have picked him 2nd after bedard the Ducks and Jackets picks are still acceptable so far and in projection.

Too early to call but good start
Still crazy how he fell so far in the draft and then immediately came over
It's obvious that no NHL team had done their homework on Michkov properly and misjudged the whole KHL contract situation. I think it was Sam Cosentino at Sportsnet who before the draft said on The Jeff Marek Show that Michkov would be the same age as Kaprizov was when he would come to North America. He's either extremely bad at math, his reports were wrong or he just shot from the hip.

Either way it seems like no NHL team or media draft person bothered to even do the smallest amount of work when it came to Michkov, because you could clearly see the signs for things brewing already in his draft year if you bothered looking.

Franchise level player. If he can improve his skating over the next few years, especially in terms of speed, he could become a MacKinnon impact player for his team.

I thought him and his agent told everyone to go fly a kite he would not be moving to their city any time soon

Homerish, but if Philly didn't have a horrendously bad string of wide-open net misses, then Michkov is in the top-10 in points this year, so far.

That's even being very generous, because there are at least 7 notable freebies that were whiffed on where it's not even a question that an average NHL player would hit most of those.
If every player cashed in on most of their chances, they’d have more points.

That is just the nature of sports. Not all the chances you recreate results in points and goals

I think Montreal takes the most flack because their franchise's media bangs the 2nd loudest drum in the league. First is sportsnet. Or to use their true name Leafsnet. While both markets have a massive influence on hockey media narratives, they also both have massive vocal fan bases with many voices. While I think most know the opinion of some is not the opinion of all, people react towards the entire general Habs pie even if they should only be targeting a slice of said habs pie.

The Habs should have taken Michkov, but in my opinion the Franchise that should be getting more questions on their decision to pass is actually the Sharks. Unlike the Flyers who decided to hang out in playoff range last season, the sharks were destined to be buns. I am not saying I don't think Will Smith will be good, but If anyone could have benefited most from taking Michkov and even waiting the full 3 years, it would have been the sharks. Just imagine an offense of Eklund, Michkov, Celebrini, Martone, and McKenna. That sounds like a potential offensive Dynasty does it not? The sharks should be getting more heat from fans and media for thier decision, but it seems like everyone only ever hears about the Habs decision. This is likely due to the elements mentioned in the first paragraph, but still

Geez...did the Habs had the first 6 picks? lollll. If Michkov continue that way, he should have been No1. How in the world is that solely a Habs issue when the only player taken that can't play right now is the player the Habs picked?

Mind you, I had Michkov at 2. At draft day. Not hindsight. We should have picked him. Still way too soon to tell which teams will regret it.

Good enough that Montreal will be regretting not picking him for around 2 decades.
lol. So instead of just admiring what he,s doing, let's put Montreal in this as if they had the first 6 picks of the draft......You guys have MDS....Montreal Derangement Syndrom. Which is funny 'cause we haven,t been relevant in quite a while....no idea how the team is living rent free....lolll

Yes Michkov has been a great PP specialist.
Lmfao, cope more.

He’s shooting 25% and relying on the PP for production but he’s gonna be good
Watch Flyers games and realize what he really is, cool take though. "RELYING" lmfao, I guess you didn't take in last game where the Flyers completely dominated the first half of the 1st and in the 3rd because of Michkov and the Flyers first line took over the game against a 5-0 team. 5v5. Neat teenage PP specialist. You know when Metro teams chime in the hype is real, thanks bro. 12 points off Hughes rookie year total at 8 games, SURELY they'll have similar career's if Hughes can manage to stay healthy somehow.:laugh::laugh:

He is not better than Bedard. He is the second best player in that draft I’d say. You should apply for a scouting job if you knew that.

I’m taking him over Bedard, I always had him over Bedard but I’m not gonna argue with someone that thinks other wise this early in their careers

Is it clear for you, if so how? I think it's currently razer thin for me, would love to hear your analysis.
For me it’s the skating that separates them. Both are going to be elite players. It’s pretty clear to me that Bedard is just a little bit better.
