Well, we can’t trade all the leaders, so we have to look for a different reason why they look like this.

If the defender's stick gets up into the opponent's gloves, sure. Technique matters.

It was the best defensive move available to Samuelsson in that situation.

What looked a steal of a contract, looks very average now and even an overpay. Sammy is a big dude but his game is not that tough, his offence is tiny and his gaffes are not great. I don't see a ton of value at $4.28 M but he is youn.

I’m completely unconcerned about this guy outside of injuries. He’s had a bad stretch, but he’s a good player. The type to you need to win in this league. Regular season and playoffs.

Between injuries and a small sample 2 years ago with Dahlin, he got more positive attention than he probably earned, including from me.

He has work to do to prove he's the shutdown D he's shown glimpses he can be. I'm not giving up on him.

Exactly where I am. We ALL know that defensemen take longer to develop........and it sure seems like defense-first (only?) guys do take a little longer to "get it" than their offensive-minded counterparts. I still think he becomes our Chris Tanev long term.
