They put Barkov in the all star game although Nylander has double the goals and is having a way better season.

Hard to imagine a business worth billions that is more poorly run than the NHL.

You're aware of where the game is being held?

Not great considering he was starting to like himself offensively. Still get some rest and come back fresh

I went to 2 games last year.
Dallas St Patties day-no Mathews
Philly game no Matthews
I'm selling the Columbus game Feb 11 cheap if you want a 3peat?
We won't make it home from Columbus in time to go.

Any other Leaf fans going down to Columbus? Great road trip spot.

Keefe,

Don't put Nylander at Center.

JT can play C on the top line. Kampf can move up. Holmberg can move up. Kerfoot (although not ideal) can play C. Engvall can play all 3 forward positions (although not ideal).

You can get through this. You just need to think...

Agreed, I’d like to see them call up SDA or just play McMann at Center

Tampa is 19-4-1 at home, 12-11-0 on the road. It's great that you want to pretend home ice means "f*** all" but you're wrong

Leafs don't deserve the benefit of the doubt with any playoff scenario any more.

They've had a shit home record in the playoffs for ages now...

1-2 vs the Caps
2-1 vs the Bruins
1-2 vs the Bruins
2-3 vs the Blue Jackets (since they were all at home)
1-3 vs the Habs
2-2 vs the Bolts

Home ice for the Leafs does mean "f*** all" at this stage in the game IMO.

Do I prefer it? Sure, but they haven't earned the confidence with it.

I'm not saying to give the Leafs the benefit of the doubt if they end up with home ice again. I'm saying if they end up the lower seed, it's even less likely that they beat Tampa

Doesn't sound too bad and as others have said, not the worst timing. I wonder if this is what was bothering him before? Anything not related to his golden wrists is a good thing.

I probably should rephrase:

Where in the rangers game did he seem to have sprained his knee, because I don’t think he missed time in the game, unless he played through it which is possible

Unfortunately nylander won’t get in

Tavares has a higher chance of being there than he does. Idk why but it is what it is
The tweet literally says Barkov got in

McMann? He hasn't proved anything. He hasn't done anything. He hasn't shown a desire to be involved? He would be overwhelmed. At least use a player who is performing at a high level in Marlies and let him play his position.
I am not suggesting McMann is not of use, just not that use. He needs to decide what player he is going to be, and high scoring center he is not. BTW, neither is Kampf, Kerfoot. We are losing to much offense not to put an offensive player in the role.
Isn't this what the Marlies are for. Teach the system so when a centre goes down the best centre's in Marlies comes up. .or we could play Reilly there since he spends most of his time being ahead of the O players.😉😉😉😉😉

Agree with you and it's foolish for others to just wave away these stats like they mean nothing. Thats a pretty big swing in win% for both teams. Could easily be the difference in us walking away with a 2-0 lead or a 2-0 deficit.

If the injury is a lingering injury that keeps him out a few months, say 3 months, it gives enough time and cap space to trade for say;

Miere and Karlsson with 50% retention. And still have cap space to add JT Miller with 50% retention this year with Schenn.

That would be a stout improvement for the playoffs.

I don't know what could be offered the other way but there would be some heavy lifting at the draft and summer.

But what a 3rd line

Meire (48 pts) , Miller (42 pts) with Kerfoot/Bunting ?

A 2nd group PP with Karlsson on the point

And a defensive stalwart and protector is Schenn.

And still have some space if a contract is moved.

The poster wanted nylander to get in, instead of Barkov. My response was that there was never a chance, using an inferior player such as Tavares to show that even he would beat out someone like nylander.

I don’t see what you don’t understand

Sucks that he's injured but if it was going to happen this isn't the worst timing

I don't mind him getting a decent rest before the season really starts ramping up either, we want him 100% going into the playoffs
