Obviously cheering our guy, but Drai is on a heater and we know he'll smash Matthews in points. The question is who finishes with Rocket bragging rights?
6 I believe, but it's obviously, completely irrelevent to the award. Nobody cares who finishes second, only who wins at the end of the day.How many less games has matthews played?
No reason not to think either could win. Auston will absolutely give Draisaitl a run for his money, but the big German is heating up again at the right time.Unfortunate Matthews was suspended 2 games. But Draisaitl was like 10+ goals ahead of him, and he passed him quite handidly. No reason to think he won't win.
I think you have it backwards. Matthews is the reining Rocket Richard winner. Draisaitl will be in tough to win it, and is the one giving Matthews a run for his money, with Matthews being up by 6 goals before his suspension - which is the only reason he was able to tie him.No reason not to think either could win. Should be a fantastic battle down the stretch. Looking forward to it!
We need not make excuses for either guy. Draisaitl has 5 goals in his last two games, since Matthews' return from suspension. He's starting a heater by the looks of it. #34 will have every chance to respond in kind!I think you have it backwards. Matthews is the reining Rocket Richard winner. Tied at 47 a piece and you don't think it's worthy of a conversation? I think a tie this late in the season is pretty close, but what do I know?Matthews and it's not even a conversation point
Both guys are playing games. Both guys could be injured on any night. I'm expecting a fantastic battle down the stretch between the two prolific goal scorers.Uh...why?
Cmon now. This is just a "will Auston get injured?" thread.
I disapprove.
I think the Leafs will make a serious effort down the stretch to "feed" Matthews and give him every opportunity to win the scoring title. It's all in #34's hands now!Based on the fact that EVERYONE on the Oilers makes plays for Draisaitl and they dont play defense at all. Draisaitl will win. Case in point. Draisaitl scored a hattrick tonight and was a -4.

Yep! Those two games could be HUGE down the stretch for Matthews. It should be a really fun race! This is absolutely a topic worthy of conversation.
Matthews still possesses an advantage of having two games in hand in his attempt to break the current deadlock.

Matthews has 40 goals in his last 42 games.
