Based on Leafs win rate vs Oilers win rate, I'd have to give Matthews the final edge down the stretch for the potential of empty netters. And Matthews has had very few of those thus far.

Draisaitl got another one last night to keep pace with Matthews. Tied at 49 goals each!

It would be great to see Matthews pull off a multi-goal effort in one of these games this week, in order to keep the pressure on! It would be a lot of fun to see both guys threaten 60 this year! We need Matthews to get a couple empty nutters down the stretch here. 2 or 3 of those could make an enormous difference in the outcome.

I started the thread because I did not feel that it was a forgone conclusion Matthews would / will win. I know that some here are ultra-confident that he will wind up with the rocket, but Draisaitl is insanely hot right now. Some would argue that means he has to come back down to earth, but we'll see.

Draisaitl has 11 goals over his last 10 games, which is the exact same number as Matthews over that span. This is shaping up to be a fantastic finish. We need to see a couple multi-goal efforts out of #34 down the stretch. 2-3 of those could be the difference between winning the Rocket, as well as eclipsing 60.
