The only thing campbell hasnt demonstrated is what he can do on a regular schedule. His numbers have always been pretty good and has never been given a real shot.

It's really so surprising that there is not a huge Joe Thornton appreciation thread. Guy comes in here at 41, and plays as a top player - 1ppg, plays with our top players, and absolutely contributes to the line.

He looks like he's having the time of his life, too. Really using his size and strength. And bro definitely has some old man strength. Damn. Didn't think that was real.

I think the funniest thing about playing in this new division is that everytime the Leafs win, the other fan bases react as if they lost to some garbage team and act as if the Leafs are a bottom team.

Like at what point do the other fan bases look at the record the Leafs have, the goal differential etc and realise that the Leafs are good?

I understand that the Leafs have their flaws but to be so delusional to think this is some team that has lucked into their position is hilarious. Even look at the last few seasons the Leafs have comfortably made the playoffs regularly.

Simmonds can do better with Spezza and we can up Engvall in for Kerfoot moving Kerfoot to top line. Engvall is really good 2-way player, Kerfoot is not really much defensively.

Andersen is a proven number one goalie. He is our number one goalie. Not since Belfour have we had a goalie as talented as him. His braincramps in the playoffs have cost us. But make no mistake, unless he's injured, Campbell will not be replacing him. We're lucky to have a solid backup, but Campbell can't be expected to be anything more than that.

Andersen won't be back next year, and that is a very scary thought. We truly don't know what we got until it's gone, and then Campbell becomes next year's scapegoat.

Andersen has been a subpar goalie for over two years now and has only brought us down.

Nobody, not even you, is surprised we're doing fine with him out.

Even at his best, he was never an elite goalie like Belfour.

And the funny thing is we actually do have the capspace to re-sign him. But we'd be silly to.

It just that the last time any team in this division has won anything in this league is the 90s. The last time any of the teams in this division have made it to the Finals was ten years ago. Every team in this divison has been irrelevent in terms of playoff success for largely a decade. There is no history to hold onto more than the last few years where every season the Leafs have been a 100 pt team.

These delusional fans see their team lose to the Leafs and are in shambles that their precious team could lose to this garbage team. It is just essentially even more bonkers this year because all evidence so far points to the Leafs being superior in nearly every category than every single team in this divison. The Leafs literally have a winning record against every team so far yet somehow the .500 Flames loss to us and their fans make threads stating "how can our team lose to these losers".

I hate so many teams in so many leagues. But if my team loses to a team I hate and that team is good - I still hate that team, yet I still can recognize they're good.

It's not remotely similar to a shorthanded goal. For one, there is a goalie in net; for the other, there isn't. One is the easiest situation to score; the other is the hardest. They are literal opposites.
