Only 3 players drafted post-2010 have multiple Hart finalist nominations (top 3 voting). McDavid, Mackinnon and now Matthews.

In just 6 seasons, Matthews is quickly putting together a career on track for the hall of fame.

For comparison:

McDavid (7 seasons) - 4
Mackinnon (9 seasons) - 3
Matthews (6 seasons) - 2
Draisaitl (8 seasons) - 1
Barkov (9 seasons) - 0
Eichel (7 seasons) - 0

Matthews is also the youngest and played the least seasons.

Wow, shocking that Matthews made the top 3 despite all the strategic voting by clowns like Button.

Does anyone know if Craig Button actually has a vote for the Hart?

He just said he didn't have Matthews on his ballot.

I've seen this kind of nonsense in the past. I remember a couple of years back there was an Edmonton journo who kept MacKinnon off his ballot because he wanted McDavid/Draisaitl to win.

Get Eichel and Draisaitl off that list.

Have to like his chances a whole lot if goal scoring is of the greatest appeal to the voters.

Goalies are always a tougher one to figure out.

Tough to see how a goalie that played 53 games is deserving of the Hart, as great as Shesterkin's numbers were.

Matthews hit 60 and was clearly an all-around force which should tip the votes in his favour over McDavid who, unfortunately for him, had a relatively quiet season by his own standards. Especially compared to the insane numbers he put up last year.

Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with Connor winning it, but I think the most deserving of the three is Matthews.

The true MVP of the league, regardless of how the voting turns out.

Never underestimate some of these talking heads and their stupidity.

yeah Matthews deserves it but I'm not going to be shocked if McDavid wins. Shesterkin would be more of a surprise.

I sure hope not. Button is an asshat. He doesn't know the first thing about hockey, and definitely doesn't deserve a ballot.

Journalists who do this should lose their voting privileges permanently. That's so unprofessional.

Completely deserving of the Hart this season but I think McDavid adds another to his mantle. Go get that Conn Smythe, Matthews.
