According to CJ on insider trading there is some positive news coming and once he's back It's not expected to an issue going forward.
the only good thing about that quote is the fact that I thought it could still be a 'head' issue where he was having the concussion symptoms last year in the playoffs, though I'm guessing its his neck and still related to that backwards fall into the boards last season

It's probably nothing.

Not like Carey Price or Shea Weber, as he only has a 4 year contract.

They should keep him out a couple extra wins.

Get a head of steam before disrupting the team with his return.

So are they accumulating Cap Space with Jarnkrok on LTIR?

Without getting into math….

.. As long as we are under the cap you can accrue space. (We are not) LTIR POOL= $2,874,999

Projected cap space: $-2,495,692

Seems that way, and it's too bad he can't for whatever reason avoid those niggling injuries that take him out of the line-up.

I remember year one the guy never missed so much as a shift, and then year two, a soft brush past by a defender and pffft 20 games shoulder and since then 9+ games missed every season with the exception of last year's 81 starts.

I don't know what the solution is, but I do know that 13.4 might be better used elsewhere than the injury pool.
I agree. What a waste of 13.4. Even before his supposed injury he was playing like crap………da brothers been paid now it’s time to coast

Good thing Leafs signed him for 4 years instead of 8.
Absolutely

Wrist? Lower back? Who knows.
Nobody knows for sure. If it were wrist, there isn't a reason he wouldn't at least be skating, which he hasn't been. Speculation on my part, but it really has to be back.. why else wouldn't he be skating?

Some people have been speculating that Matthews may be dealing with a back or lower back issue if it isn’t the traditional wrist problem or a repeat of the shoulder problem from the Trouba hit years ago. I also recall that one of the big human interest stories in camp had to do with Matthews playing tennis yada yada. And back injuries are common in that sport. So maybe it is a back injury. Rest and recover type thing.

Kypreos who seems as connected as anyone to the Leafs these days has hinted it’s his back.
