Matthew Tkachuk tore adductor off the bone and hernia on the same side; 23 points this playoffs

He also had a broken sternum in '23. Tkachuk is an absolute warrior. The mental strength it would take to overcome the physical hardship and still thrive.

Is this what it takes to win the cup? They have Bennett scoring 15 goals. Marchand pulling off superhero plays. They have a great goalie. Florida Panthers set the bar so high, too high.

If this is what it takes to win the ultimate prize, it's borderline intimidating to even grasp the immense challenge for a GM to build a team up to that level and for the players to prepare themselves to battle at such a high level against people like that. I don't think my team is ever going to be at that level. NHL Playoffs is quite something.

Cortisone shots are a helluva thing mate. I played semi pro rugby and allowed docs to shoot me with that garbage and here I am finally having had surgery for multiple areas destroyed in my rotator cuff that were definitely exacerbated with those shots that made me think I was good to go with just minor discomfort. Little did I know I’d be proper f***ed for years after.

Good for Matthew but hopefully this doesn’t shorten his playing career as these pile on.

i mean the adductor is a multi-headed muscle, i wouldn't be surprised if you could fight through a torn segment given the amount of muscle these guys' lower bodies have and the access to world class drugs

this isn't "erik karlsson having HALF HIS ANKLE REMOVED!!!1" level embellishment
This.

Assume he tore one of the attachments. Pain killers and numbing agents will help for a while. And tape. And PT. Does risk some more chronic injury by not treating it earlier.

I think Lebron James might go on injured reserve if someone told him about Tkachuk's injury.
