Tkachuk killing the interviews is no surprise to me, he's the most extroverted of the top prospects by far. He's a chatty one.

I don't see how Tkachuk moving up is bad news for Vancouver? it only improves our odds of landing Dubois or maybe even Puljujärvi.

No complaints here. I want the value of both players to be as high as possible so that even if we get the "second best" guy it is still an outstanding add to our prospect pool.

I have wanted Dubois all year, confirmed by the prospect game. For me something to feel good about.

I'm the same but I was glad to see Tkachuk raise his value in the OHL playoffs and Mem Cup. It increases our chances to get Dubois and, in the event he is gone before we pick, then at least gives us a better looking prospect at 5. Either way we win.

It is pretty safe to say that PL Dubois will be a Vancouver Canuck at 5pm on Friday June 24, 2016.

The Canucks love everything about him

He is perfect citizen - Lives, Eats and Breaths Hockey. He is the type of player that will take a home town discount to keep the team together.

Tkachuk is a great player. But he will bolt town as soon as he gets to UFA status he would be 26 when that happens. and with his Dad being who he is I do not like the Idea of him staying in Canada any longer then he has too.. If they Oilers trade #4 to the Habs then the Canucks are in more trouble .

It is a good point. Thachuk will not be afraid to move. Though Debois's dad was a pro player so may know the business side as well so who knows

I think it's a bit of a leap to say that he'll definitely bolt as an UFA just because he's an American playing in a Canadian city. That decision is several years away.

I know I may be alone on this, but even if we had the opportunity to choose between Matthew Tkachuk or PL Dubois, I would still take Dubois.

I'm going to be really bummed out if we don't leave this draft with him in a Canuck jersey.

You're not alone, look at the poll.

But yeah, I agree, especially since McCann is gone we really need another potential top 6 center. If he pans out then we would have a very formidable duo of Horvat and Dubois in the top 6.

Ha ha, I didn't even notice there was a poll. I just assumed with all the media Tkachuk was getting people would be clamouring for him now. Glad to see I'm actually with the group on this.

I also think he makes the team as a winger next season if we get him.

He also wants to go as PL Dubois - Not Pierre Luc Dubois.

or Peter Luke Dubois for those of you only using the English Language :)

what i am most thanful for with tkachuks performance is that he has solidified the top5 and there is now no chance benning will take a D if PLD is gone at 4.

Agreed.

If Benning were to pass on Thachuk at 5 for Juolevi, that is it for me and I would have to join the full on negative, pitchfork crowd.

Canucks have already interviewed Dubois. He is obviously a big priority for Benning.

Dubois said the interview went well.

Friedman pretty much inferred in his piece today that if he's there at 5, it's going to be dubois.

It’s worse news for Vancouver and Calgary at five and six. The likelihood of Tkachuk dropping to those slots is nearing infinitesimal. The Flames, in particular, crave a power winger. (A few teams suspect the Canucks like Dubois if the above four are gone.)

This has pretty much been a done deal since the lottery I think. The question has always been what happens if PLD goes at #4 ... then things were pretty fluid. That was before Tkachuk's playoff, however, so I'm thinking that's died down now. We'll end up with one of these two guys I hope.

I can't imagine there are many people like that, though this is the same sport where "Michael," "Mikael," "Mikkel," and "Michal" are pronounced the same...

Anyways, if Dubois is our guy, "P.L." it is. He goes by "P.L." on social media, so I was wondering.

Hiding under WTG's bed...
With Tkachuk's impressive post-season play, Edmonton would be crazy not to select him, especially since they have a much higher need of a LW than C.
Much harder to build up a blueline (which they REALLY need to address). I'd imagine one or more of those forwards will be dealt to help solve that problem (what free agent would sign there unless they were offered boatloads of cash?) - freeing up space up front.

Meaning, Dubois is a slam dunk Canuck. Should crack the roster in 2017-2018.

When pressed further for details apparently Dubois told a French-speaking reporter:

Monsieur Benning a dit que je suis «viande et pommes de terre " . Je ne savais pas ce qu'il parlait.

Weren't they also in on Gudbranson with Yakupov and their 32nd or has that been shot down?
