Why are people mad about this again?
NHL fans: Players are so boring, they need to show more personality.
*an NHL player shows some personality*
NHL fans: noooooooo NOT LIKE THAT! How could he do such a thing! Give me more robotic players with no emotion who say the same 5 things over and over.
People like you are what's wrong with this sport
Many hockey fans hate it because he's not in a traditional market.NHL fans: Players are so boring, they need to show more personality.

Is this supposed to be an insultAh man this guy is literally the American PK Subban.
I thought you needed to win to be interviewed?
He is well known after the cup win and actually shows personality. Great for TV.Publicity for the game. He wouldn't have been my choice either but he's grabs attention
AgreedHe's pretty popular and being injured it's a perfect use of his time.
G-d forbid a hockey player shows some personality, and is good with the media.
Nah, it’s clearly better to be a perpetual sourpuss like McDavid/MacK, or a weird robot like Makar/Crosby![]()
HF needs a thumbs-down reaction for this kind of comment.Ah man this guy is literally the American PK Subban. Just craves attention so much. Maybe good for the game in America but I can't help but cringe every time I see him on some dumb commercial or talking during the game with the NBC broadcasters. Any chance he gets.
IMO PK always seems like he's trying too hard. Not organic at all.I hate Tkachuk but I think he did a good job in the interview. I wouldn't compare him to PK, who always seems to be doing a Kevin Hart impression to me.
Not really, I think it’s Canadian fans who want their guys to get the spotlight but as good as they are Canadian superstars are all robotsIKR. People can be really puritanical about this sort of thing.
Like a Stanley cup ?I thought you needed to win to be interviewed?
M.T. plays in Florida. Wasn't really a hockey hotbed until a few years ago. Having his personality is probably a good thing for less traditional hockey markets. He's probably turned a lot of people into hockey fans there since going there. He is well known after the cup win and actually shows personality. Great for TV.
Agreed
Going to be real have McDavid in his own tier of how he talks to media. Captain Boring. Nothing wrong with it though he plays hockey for a living he can be boring.
Crosby and McKinnon aren't much better of course.
