Many hockey fans hate it because he's not in a traditional market.

They want the game to grow but in the end they really don't and just more boring "pucks on net guys,'' they can harass when the PP hits 1-12 slump in the middle of January.

But a lot of the appeal of Tkachuk is him being in Ft. Lauderdale.

Single American guy in one of the best party cities in the US, who fights, scores goals and wins.

M.Tkachuck is the face of the NHL.

Not another robot with some robot WAG.

Ah man this guy is literally the American PK Subban. Just craves attention so much. Maybe good for the game in America but I can't help but cringe every time I see him on some dumb commercial or talking during the game with the NBC broadcasters. Any chance he gets.

IMO PK always seems like he's trying too hard. Not organic at all.

M.T. plays in Florida. Wasn't really a hockey hotbed until a few years ago. Having his personality is probably a good thing for less traditional hockey markets. He's probably turned a lot of people into hockey fans there since going there.

Crosby, MacK and McD can get away with saying nothing edgy or having no personality and saying all standard interview lines, there the best in the game along with Matthews and Ovie.

I'm not sure what the issue is with the interview....other than calling his father one of the greatest players of all time....I guess he then said, US players after that. But yeah, no issues with the interview, he seemed fine there.

I don't like the guy very much, like the way he plays for the most part, but do hate the cheap little crap he pulls. Probably dislike his brother more for that though. Perhaps one of the guys you hate but would love on your team I guess.
