There are no fewer than 15 forwards slower than Kevin Hayes?!? My world is all askew.
Matthew Tkachuk has been one of the slowest skaters in the league since he joined the league. If you’ve ever seen him skate with space you would know it.This is all about how you play the game and how your team is structured.
You don't need that many speed bursts if you're a net front guy who doesn't have to work too hard to back check because your defensemen take care of it or your center is always defensively repsonsible.
There is an element of quickness, but I doubt for a second that Matthew Tkachuk is the second slowest NHL'er.
Think he's pretty middle of the pack, had certain metrics better last year.

Which is why guys who weren't fast to begin with can have long careers and still be useful because speed was never part of their game (Perry, Jagr, Andreychuk)Because he'll get slower? Kind of confused if it's a trait he's already not relying on, it's not like it's something he'll need to reinvent his game to adjust for if he did have elite skating
There's plenty of Bedard threads that you can dig holes for yourself inBased on the burst of speed meter, is Connor Bedard a waste of a draft pick?
Also based on the 9 MPH Burst per 60, Jason Allison is the greatest of all time.

Your inability to read into these things is not my problem.Last year Bedard was among the 13% slowest group, this year he is among the 6% slowest. That's not middle of the pack.

I don't know I just find it hilarious that one of the reasons Anaheim traded Perry was he was getting too slow. And now they have Ryan Strome who is just as slow as 39 year old Corey Perry.Corey Perry is playing great but how is it possible that he is not dominating this, the human eye can barely detect when he is moving.

Oh yeah? There's plenty of Bedard threads that you can dig holes for yourself in
Perhaps…Dave Andreychuk was scoring 20+ into his 40sA player that's effective even if they can't skate may age better than other guys, since it’s only when their reaction time starts aging that their effectiveness will fade.
