In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord ServerI'd give Knies a 9 mil offer sheet no problem.
Would be interesting to see Toronto's response. Knies at that number plus Marner at 14? and Tavares at 7? eats up all their cap space, without any improvements to the roster or even filling out the roster.
That's not bad actually. I could see some teams paying that.4 firsts would need to be ~11.5 AAV
9 million is a first, second and third.
I love Knies and he's pacing 30 goals and 55 points with Matthews and Marner. But take him off that line and he's probably closer to 20-25 goals and 45 points. If some team offered him 9 million I would laugh my ass off. I think he's a dominant power forward and clutch, but he's defintley worth closer to 6-7 million. I'd give 7 years, 7 million per as my max offer if we're getting term. If it's a shorter term deal, it should be closer to 6.5.That's not bad actually. I could see some teams paying that.

Toronto has $27M for next season, and they need to resign Marner, Knies and Tavares, and sign another 4 forwards (Robertson amongst them). Tough task.

5.83% was Tuch's cap hit %Tuch signed his when the salary cap was much lower. An equal salary by percentage would be 7M in todays cap world.
The teams near the top of the standings do not have the cap space to accommodate Knies.Fla or some Team that is near the top of the standings (holding their 1st rders) will possibly make a huge offer . A 1st rder around 25 is basically a 2nd rder so why not with the Cap going up ?
I think they would but most of these teams dont meet the qualifcations for what it would take. Anything over 6.8 a year only Buffalo Chicago Montreal Nashville Montreal NYI Philly and Utah can do.The teams near the top of the standings do not have the cap space to accommodate Knies.
This entire discussion is predicated on the Leafs being unable to sign Knies because his ask will be too high. In no universe is Knies worth 9, and a team would be dumb to offer sheet him to that. I understand the cap is going up but Knies is not a play driver and his numbers are certainly inflated by his line mates. He’s a guy you’d love to have on your team but he’s not someone you make one of the highest paid on your team.I think they would but most of these teams dont meet the qualifcations for what it would take. Utah Montreal Detroit are all interesting RFA Offersheet canidates

I think it will be around five or six.
With Marner, Tavares, and Knies, any chance the Leafs would try to move Robertson for a pick to save a little money?
