Knies has been "about-to-break-out" every year for many years.

This is his 2nd season and he put up 15G, 35Pts in his his rookie year.
As for his contract, pretty easy decision on his part to wait and see how this year goes. He knew pretty early on he was going to get a look on the top line with Auston & Mitch and his numbers already show the benefit with 6G so far.
Scouting wise: He's not just a physical, grinding big body he's got some puck skill too, even a little flash. He's always hustling and clearly the kind of player Berube likes so if anything his deployment may increase (he's playing 17+ minutes/game now).
He could put up 30G this year and what that looks like contract-wise, I'm not sure but he's going to get paid.
