I think he's the most exciting thing to happen to this boring ass league in quite awhile.
He’s an exciting player for sure.

IMO he should be in the AHL working on his game so he can play a meaningful role on the team. 5 minutes every 3rd game isn’t gonna help him get better.

.200 fighting the top guys in the league and he's held his own against most of them. Obviously, he could improve but he's not a bad fighter. It's ridiculous how much people shit on him. And every single player in this league would be on life support if they fought enforcers from 20 years ago.

Yea he seems to take a disproportionate amount of heat for some reason?

It’s a really tough job to learn on the fly. Go back and look at how bad (and terrified) Brashier was as a young fighter breaking in and he ended up being one of the more accomplished of all time at that specific task.

One big difference I haven’t seen people mention is that the most successful fighters seem to have a legitimate mean streak, which I don’t really see in Rempe. Brashear had a horrific upbringing and has legit anger issues. Not that that’s necessarily a prerequisite for being a good fighter, but you have guys like Wilson or Gallagher Anderson who seem to hit a switch when they drop the gloves, personally I don’t see that with Rempe.

To me he would be best cast as a 4th liner who can agitate, be a monster on the forecheck, lay big hits and still chip in on offense and be a net front presence. Someone who can fight as needed to deter the other team but that’s not his main identity.

Hopefully he gets some serious minutes in Hartford this year to cultivate those skills so that when he’s back up with the big club he can play a more meaningful role.

Brendan Gallagher? You gotta be joking, he's terrible at fighting.

Wasn't McIlrath mostly drafted as high as he was (10th OA) because of his junior fighting prowess? Reputation as toughest guy in the CHL in his draft year? Looking at that draft, there wasn't much toughness selected - I do believe he had a fight with Alex Petrovic at the CHL prospects game here in Windsor that year.
Was called the undertaker the year he came out.

Not too sure why Rempe is in the league. Hes not a tough guy. And he’s not a useful bottom line forward. The league has expanded too much.
He's willing and he can check

I don't mean literally brain dead, I mean he's not going to be able to continue to sustain this kind of punishment. The more concussions you get, the more prone you get to receiving them.

I'm surprised his lights haven't been turned out yet, but once they go put once, the easier it gets going forward.

He's eaten a lot of damage at a real young age, this type of style doesn't bode well when it comes to longevity.
Rempe has taken some damage, but he isn't like a Kelly Buchberger or Matt Barnaby who both took a lot of damage.

Someone like Adam McQuad who would go bananas when it came to fights. Dont think he ever really lost. Torres beat down is legendary.

He's what, 22 years old? That beating Oliver put on him was hard to watch.

Kid still has a developing brain, he flat out needs to learn some basic defensive mechanics, I've never seen a fighter so tall struggle so much to utilize their range/reach advantage.

I don't think I can remember someone taking so many clean shots to the head as Rempe did against Olivier, which is even more crazy because Olivier is like 7 inches shorter and 30-40 pounds lighter.
