I really can not believe this suspension. Should immediately appeal with clips of much worse hits that did not get a 1 game suspension even.

Rempe:

- Match penalty in only his 3rd NHL game for hit to the head
- 2nd match penalty in 10th game for an elbow to the head
- Also suspended 4 games for that hit to the head
- Match penalty and suspension in his 22nd NHL game for elbow to the head

NHL:

- This guy might be a repeat offender

Fans:

- Why is the NHL doing this to Rempe?

Rempe is going to get hot hard on this suspension. 6-8 games

He's been suspended and that hit was awful. Right in the back, drove his head in the glass, followed through with the elbow to the head, all of it was bad. The league also went out of their way to get a message to him on the last suspension so if it's happening again I expect a stronger message this time.

I don’t think the hit was that bad, certainly not 8 game worthy. With that being said, he has to know better and ease the F up in that situation. He was having an effective game to that point.

No need to massacre everyone at every opportunity. Despite some of the hand wringing and hate he gets, even here, he has the ability to be an everyday NHL 4th liner.

What’s going to end up happening is that the coming army of bottom 6ers in the org will take his spot. I’d prefer years of Edstrom and Rempe together on the 4th vs a prospect that’s a 3rd line talent being put in that spot because of unnecessary elbows or hits from behind

The Bastian play was an overreaction by the refs.

The other 2 were horrible hits.

2 sandwiched between just 12 games
After a significant suspension= a more
Significant suspension.

He's not eligible until VGK in Vegas 1/11.

He just needs a good De Niro-style slap from Quick. "What's the matter with you?"

Not quite sure if the roles were reversed and Panarin / Fil caught a hit to the head from an elbow that left them bleeding and leaving the game, would getting 10 minutes be called an overreaction.

Rempe has now been suspended more that 50% more games then he's actually dressed in
You're useless if you keep getting suspended every 3-4 games you play, missing more time than you would've been dressed for. He hasn't learned. Did he get the 8 games because of his history, it's likely. Still though, don't put yourself in that position when they can stick it to you. Learn how to play the right way; be physical without the stupid stuff.

If he actually plays in enough games to become what he will in the NHL, if he becomes anything more than a 4th liner/healthy scratch/AHLer, It'd be stunned. He is a product of a part of a game that is much better being left behind.

The discourse around him is actually pretty tame in Rangerland, because the Rangers managed to win all those games where he took a major. Imagine if this was not the case.

12 regular season games between suspensions, you can understand why DOPS want to throw the book at him.
Show that you can play clean and maybe you get some leniency

Just friendly advice that this behavior is off-putting. There's no need to go back and quote yourself to tell everyone you're right about something (especially things that are pretty predictable).

People who are right about things don't have to prove to others their intelligence or accuracy. Their reputation through their actions will be enough to build that respect.

There's a reason we won them. But maybe some people won't get it until the sample size increase ever the more. In the mean time we can enjoy some more lethargic Rempe-less hockey.

Sure - but if he can't be effective without taking moronic penalties / suspensions then he's not going to last in the league (and it will have nothing to do with a coaches decision either).

The Rangers played a really good game against Dallas but he nearly cost them it with a completely dumb penalty - which would have unwound all the good he did in a millisecond.

If they threw themselves into a bad position and got steamrolled? Yeah.

Elbows and hits from behind are one thing, but players are still allowed to be hit. If someone puts themselves in a vulnerable
Position and they get smoked, that’s on them.

He's at nearly 1 game of suspension per 10 minutes played (127 minutes - 12 games).

That’s why he got 8 games. It’s really not hard to figure it out if you think about it for more than 10 seconds.
You’re including the current suspension time as a reason the current suspension should be so long… that’s… interesting. And took me less than ten seconds to figure out.

I have seen a heck of a lot worse. Tom Wilson. Sam Bennet. These guys get away with way worse often. I'm okay with some sort of penalty but it should not be cr4azy because he is tall or a Ranger imo.
