The athleticism is so there, it's the experience and knowledge missing. Be patient, don't hate, develop the kid into the mf BMFG he shall be!

Half of those keyboard warriors who belittle Rempe and the Rangers for dressing him are the same fans who would be purchasing his sweater if he was on their team.
Matt Rempe is a 22 year old prospect that can skate. Be thankful that the team hit on a 6th round pick. Take this to the bank that if Chris Drury was to make Matt Rempe available there would be 31 GMs clawing past each other to get him on their team.
Need proof. Just look at the arms race that started at the end of last season and during the offseason once Matt Rempe entered the league.

Highly unlikely, since he's getting an in-person hearing. There have been one or two times they have given 4 games with that, but with 90% of the cases it starts from 5 games.

Being down a 4th liner is far from the end of the World..

However....I think guys like Laf , Berard , Cuylle and Chytil would LOVE it getting extra ice time .

Yeah well Mika's made 4/5 plays this season that have arguably cost us a game. He and Kreider's lack of production have also hurt us a lot. At the moment I think it's a reach that we'll make the playoffs and It's not Matthew's fault things are this way. Unless some of our top players start playing like top players again I don't think we will make it. So then Matthew's major didn't cost us the game....we won despite it......so then also if we don't make the playoffs those two points we got last night aren't going to help us get a better draft pick. As a point of pride the Rangers haven't been playing with a lot of pride the last several weeks.

The onus for winning is most on those who have produced before and who make the most money. When they do their jobs other things tend to fall into place. If we were really in the battle for playoff placement with the Caps, the Canes and Devils then yeah that penalty last night might have meant something for real to me.....but we're not so it didn't.

Well if it's the top picture, you can't use the "he's penalized for being too big" argument because that's Lian Bichsel who is listed at 6'7" 231, lol.

Rempe is going to get hot hard on this suspension. 6-8 games

He's been suspended and that hit was awful. Right in the back, drove his head in the glass, followed through with the elbow to the head, all of it was bad. The league also went out of their way to get a message to him on the last suspension so if it's happening again I expect a stronger message this time.

Marchand has seven suspensions, and Raffi Torres and Matt Cooke each had five. Torres and Cooke are probably more comparable than Marchand. Torres went unsigned after his 41-game suspension. Cooke came back and did awful things for several more years but somehow never received another suspension. Unless the Rangers cut him loose and he's blackballed, Rempe has at least a few suspensions left.

I understand he wants to spark the team and make a difference in the little time he has up here, but you just han't hit a guy facing the boards unless you REALLY pull up and just push them a bit, all the more so if your a giant like Rempe. If Laf makes the same hit, it's probably fine because there's much less momentum behind it. It's just the way it is and Rempe needs to learn it.

He glided into it which is a step up from his hits last year when he went full boar into his hits, now he needs to learn to recognize when it's time to pull up and give more of a shove than a follow through hit.
