Campbell was not as good as Murray has been this year. SV% can be misleading. He stopped a pretty negligible higher percentage of shots but the shots he faced were lower quality.

Campbell had the higher sv%, higher GSAA, higher Quality Start %, higher Goalies pt share per game and in total(of course since he played more games)
You can look at more then just GSAA expected to judge them

None of those take into account the quality of what they face. They're all just making the same mistake in a slightly different way.
Soup and Freddy were chokers .. mental midgets .. Sammy has same issues which is why Capitals let their 1st round pick go .. da net will be Murray's, if healthy come playoffs .. and if he is hurt then Woll will take over net

It's a question that's not going to be answered in February, one way or the other.
If he helps the team get passed Tampa by shutting the door in a playoff series during games 5-7 he's worth his weight in gold. If he's riding the bench or press box at that point while the team lives or dies by Samsonov then it becomes another story.
Sammy's style is heart attack inducing. He's had periods of great play, but his style doesn't look reliable for a playoff run. His positioning needs a lot of work. Hoping Murray gets and stays healthy.

True but in something like goaltending the more recent trends either good or bad is more relevant, at least in my opinion

The best ability for a goalie is availability.
Doesn't matter how much trust you have in a player's playing ability when he isn't able to play, because unfortunately that helps no one.

Doesn't matter how much a goalie is available to play if they're a negative impact on your team when they do play. That not only doesn't help, it hurts us.
There's currently nothing preventing Murray from playing in the playoffs.

It is all about his health .. really simple .. if he is healthy team has a Cup shot as he has already won 2 Cups .. if not then we will be out again in round 1 (Woll is a risky play but better than Sammy who always finds a way like Freddy and Soup to fold up like a cheap suit when it really counts (this is why Washington let their 1st round G pick leave town)
We just waived him anyways so unless it's another trade seems like he's probably out for a bit
If anything, Anderson being waived suggests that Murray is close to a return.
