Anyway, this is a "culture" move. The skills of all these players are secondary. NYI are going to be bad, but they're also going to be baaad. I don't know what you're all so worried about in terms of salary. We're not getting Erik friggin' Karlsson.

With Reeves playoffs and suddenly a wanted player in the NHL, maybe players like Martin are becoming in vogue again. One thing he does provide is protection for Barzal, and other talented younger players coming up soon for the Isles.

Only 2 years left on his contract.

I absolutely love Matt Martin, the person. Not to mention he ***ing hates Toronto like we do.

Whatever. We get a guy who’s loved by the fans and his teammates back. He’s had big moments here. Johnston is better but Martin will be great for the room, the fans, and the community.

I know it's tough at the moment, but let's not be negative with our thinking that its apart of a TOR dehaan signing, instead I believe this to be the opportunity for a Karlsson/Ryan deal to he put in place with the potential for clutterbuck or Ladd to go the other way

I just don't understand why we didn't get a draft pick as well. We saved Toronto from one of their worst contracts, and got nothing in return. Someone should remind Lou that he is working for us now. He is no longer in charge of the Leafs.
