Proposal: Matt Duchene to Winnipeg

Has there been any rumors on what teams Duchene wants to sign with? Or is it just anywhere but the gong show going on in Ottawa

Personally, I’d go after Duchene as long as the price is reasonable and doesn’t include a roster player or A-prospect. But I’d do it with the mindset that Duchene is a rental only.
Now if something happened between the TDL and the end of the playoffs to change that, then it can be revisited, but re-signing him wouldn’t be the priority at the TDL.

Gimme Stone on Little's wing. Connor-Little-Stone

Connor and Stone both work hard in corners, causing havoc and turnovers and Little actually has a pretty good finishing touch.

Duchene is actually just as strong as Scheifele on the cycle. Their passing and recovery rates are pretty much identical in the offensive zone. Their low to high, high to low and behind the net passing rates are pretty much the same as well. Duchene actually has a bit higher success rate getting the puck to the slot though and his zone entry stats are much higher than Scheifs. This season Duchene is every bit as good as Scheifele is at the things we want. I just think that his reputation from Colorado is still following him. Trust me he is a perfect fit for Laine.

Interesting stuff Dax. If this is the case, I imagine Chevy will pony up that extra draft value, or prospect, to try and make it a no brainer for Ottawa.

Melnyck doesnt want to dish out the cash anyway. They are trying to play their cards well at the deadline. Him and Stone are both gone for sure imo

CGY has 2 solid top 6 centers already. Sharks as well. Vegas could be after Duchene as well. And they love cock blocking us lol. Preds need more scoring most. Team in its prime. They will make a big push for Panirin mot Duchene.

Tampa, Toronto, Boston dont need him. Pens need a checking matchup center most. Caps dont need him. Jackets are selling Panirin most likely. Habs are too early in their cycle to be dropping a 1st on a rental and they know it.

Jets really do seem like the team that needs him the most. And Ottawa is going to be moving him.
