If the Rangers win at least one game against Boston and Zuccarello plays in all the games, the Rangers will retain his rights.

Special rules. Due to the shortened season, he only required one playoff game to remain an RFA.
I thought they already retained them, due to the shortened season?
Yup :)

Extremely excited to see how Zuc plays against this Boston team that seems to be tougher, and play harder then Washington.

I can just see him roughing up Lucic now

I hadn't heard of anything on this, do you remember the source for this?
I dont have a link, but they made special transition rules due to the shortened season.

Normally, a category 6 UFA (like Zuke would have been), requires having played less than 80 NHL games over 3 years (i think it was). Zuke got to 68 games by the end of this regular season, and needed 12 playoff games to remain an RFA.

But they cut 11 games off that rule for the transition period, so one playoff game put him "over" :)

My only concern with Zuuc is that he does not put the puck in the net more. But he makes so much happen that I'm actually beginning to wonder how much it matters. He creates so many chances with his passing, creativity and hockey sense that the percentages are bound to work over time. A definite impact player at this point and huge, HUGE improvement over his last stay with us.

Color me extremely impressed.

He has a much better shot than I originally thought, he needs to shoot more, as much as I love his creativity and passing it is starting to get to me.

Our over passing powerplay also need more shots (or at least the thought it might be a shot). He bacame sort of predictable, the opposite defenders started to cheat a bit since they know he wouldnt shoot what so ever. Think he mixed it up a bit the last 3-4 games of the Caps-series, which is good and about time.

He has always had to prove him self. He was to small for the get-ligaen, proved everyone wrong. He was to small for Elitserien(sel), proved everyone wrong. He most certainly was to small for the NHL (Probably AHL to), and is about to prove everyone wrong yet again. He felt he was good enough the last time he was here. And was disappointed he didnt get a better opportunity to show his skills. When he got benched for an injured Dubinsky in the playoffs, after being cleared to play. He probably felt he never would get that chance. He went to Russia with an agenda and a goal. Witch was to return to the NHL. He used the year well, but had some injury problems. He found his game in the KHL playoffs. Went home to Norway and got in almost a month of training at the Olympic center, with the coaches there. And went to New York in great shape and with a point to prove, that size doesn't matter! And what do you know?:) His effort this year has made me even more confident, that he will be a consistent 60+ point player in this league.

60+? Chill down man.. Zuc is hot, but far from a 60+.

Top 5 regular season, can`t really see Zuc pissing on these guys
1 Martin St Louis 60
2 Steven Stamkos 57
3 Alex Ovechkin 56
4 Sidney Crosby 56
5 Patrick Kane 55

.....you know the 48-game season was a one-off with the lockout...right?

If Nash had half of the heart and desire to get involved with the physical play as this guy does he would be a 55 goal scorer.

Seriously? You do realize that a regular season has 82 games...

Zucc got plain schooled on that play by Marchand. Marchand to be fair, evades checks from everyone. He must have great lower body strength to muscle players off like that.

Here's to Zucc losing the game tonight with his lazy backcheck in OT,

He didn't deserve that. The rangers will win this series! King Henrik already let in a softie, probably the only one he will let in. The team will keep getting better. I would try Richards with Nash again. If they klick now this team could go a long way. Hagelin-Stepan-Callahan, Zuccarello-Brassard-Kreider, Nash-Richards-Dorset, Asham-Boyle-Pyatt. Girardi-Macdonagh, Staal/Emminger-Moore, Del Zotto- Stralman
