Value of: Mason McTavish? For reals?

Would Nemec be enough? Or Mercer plus ?
I'm not sure anymore. The Ducks problem now has been scoring goals. Individually, most of the young guys have looked pretty good (including Helleson who's a RHD. He actually is better in the NHL than AHL). Zellweger and LaCombe (who's been having a really good season are a bit of a rough start) both play the right side and Luneau and Solberg coming up in the system too.

Anyone the ducks target would need to help them once they are out of their rebuild and competing. So basically they wouldn’t be looking at anyone older than Mctavish. Mctavish is like the perfect age for what they are building. It is going to be a very hard time to find a good trade partner here

Why even trade him? What’s going on? I think the kid is a legit top 6 wing/center. Maybe just needs some more time to grow into the player he’s expected to be.

I think the idea would be we need bigger talent now, and to get a bigger piece we have to give up a potential big piece. Zegras or mctavish are the obvious tradable pieces to accomplish that.
I think zegras has done basically everything asked if him in terms of becoming a more complete player, and has a higher upside…. So for me if I was to move any young forward it would be mctavish.

But it wouldn’t be moving him just to move him, it would be moving him plus other pieces for a more established top 6/top line player.

I'm not sure this is the correct fit, but I wonder if a McTavish/Mittlestadt deal could be worked out.

Two separate thoughts I have is that the Avs should package Mittlestadt for a upper tier 2C option and that they should also target Yanni Gourde. It's unlikely both of those things happen, but combing Gourde @50% while adding McTavish could make sense.

Avs would be shedding some cap in the deal while improving their C depth and also keep that long-term 2C hole filled.

Mitts gives the Ducks a more established option at that position who also complements Carlsson well long term.

Probably not the right deal, but I like McTavish's playoff potential more than Mitts.

Gudas and Trouba?

What about them? The Ducks have nice balance between veterans (those two and Dumoulin) and young Dmen (Zellweger, Mintyukov, Lacombe, Helleson, Luneau). Their biggest need is scoring and established star talent. Trading one of their key young forwards for yet another young Dman - is literally the opposite of the Ducks needs.

Zellweger and Lacombe play the left side according to Daily Faceoff. If I'm bothering you, you don't have to respond.

They both play either side frequently. The Ducks have their young D already, and trading McTavish for Nemec is the exact opposite of what their roster needs. It's not bothering but like I said it's already been proposed and addressed several times in this thread.

Just crazy enough to work, for both teams. I think Mittelstadt would be really pissed to be back with a loser of a team, though.

He actually wanted to stay and sign a new contract, but Adams ran him out of town, apparently for his own happiness.

K’andre for McTavish?
I like k’andre
But we have a bunch of guys on left side

Mintyukov
Zellweger
Lacombe
Solberg
Tarin smith
Tyson hinds

If we’re moving mctavish it’s for a more polished/established forward. Or a better fit at forward

When Chicago takes Schaefer and Anaheim takes Frondell we can swap Korchinski and McTavish.
Similar to my last post, lhd is last thing we need

Peterka for McTavish
I feel like that’s pretty lateral move at best, we’d be aiming for a more established guy, even if we have to add to mctavish.
