Value of: Mason McTavish? For reals?

There are not many players I would put Cowan on the table for but Mctavish is truly available and I have a hard time believing he's available.

But IF he truly is, you put Cowan on the table, you put a 1st on the table you sell the farm if you have to.

Because Tavares is having a great season but he's 34 years old at some point he's going to need to be replaced.

Mctavish is 21 that's your replacement right there, he can grow into your #2 center, maybe even your #1 by the time Matthews is Tavares age.

If he's truly available if I'm Treliving I'm calling and I'm doing whatever it takes.

Hell, I'd see about getting Vatrano thrown in there too.

Cowan is a very good wing prospect not a LHD. I'd hate to move Cowan plus but for Mc Tavish and our need at center I'd do it hands down.

I like Cowan, but idk that he’s even top 5 in OHL right now.

As for value , it’s prob alright but If I’m trading mctavish it’a to get an established piece, not prolong the rebuild.

The offer pitched was good, just not the ideal direction for us, unless PV is a crazy sob

I don't think It's a stretch to call him the best player in the OHL right now, he broke the record for consecutive games with a point.

They won't give it to him because it stretched over 2 seasons but he broke the damn record.

That's got to count for something

I think it's not enough, we could throw in something else if needed

Mailloux is a huge, mean RHD with tons of offensive abilities, but he's not in the NHL right now because he must polish his defensive qualities
He's probably ready next year, IMO

Not Hoglander but I think Vancouver and Anaheim could both benefit on a deal around JT Miller and McTavish. Anaheim could use that strong leader and that 100 point Center and Vancouver could benifit by changing the culture in the room.

As much as I love McTavish I think Anaheim would have to add to that. They have a year or so before they have to take the next steps because they have some insane youth/depth

I don't know about that. I barely 31 years old and being the player he is he lines up almost perfectly with what they need.

With the cap increasing in 3 to 5 years it would be more than manageable with his age and a transition from top to middle 6 it would also give the Young guns a chance to grow into their roles a little better. (Carlsson/Zegras)

Should they trade McTavish for him it would still give them a centre depth of Strome, Miller, Zegras, Carlsson, Fabbri and Gaucher which is actually impressively good.

If anything he actually represents the one thing that young team like Anaheim really needs I just doesn't work if he is in fact the kind of cancer they talk about. But at the same time; no team wins by being nice. Just ask the Vancouver Canucks
