Not sure if it helps the cap concerns, but I’ve floated the idea of Marchment + Dumba for Hamilton

It’s a net wash cap wise but I don’t think it’s possible after the Rantanen extension unless Benn and Duchene take discounts to stay with Dallas.

He’s going to get value, many teams will want him.

Dumba will likely cost a pick to unload.

After that, not sure what other changes they will make to fill out their roster. That won’t be enough and I’m curious what happens with Bourque because I wonder if he wants an offer sheet for a better opportunity. I’ll also add if Bourque does go, I think it’s a trade. Instead of waiting for what could be a third to get him I think the bidding war of teams offering Dallas trades before he signs.

Pens offer their 2026 2nd for Borque and Dumba.
