For those following the bouncing ball of the state of the Blade movie. While some people believe it is not dead. The music guy, the costume person and other back room people have all now come out and said they have have been released from their contracts.
I am not saying that there wont be a Blade movie again--but it has been kicked WAAAAY down the block now in the development at marvel and it is now back to square one.
And I admit, seeing Blade set in the 1920's? that would have been interesting. Ali has confirmed he is still attached to Marvel and hopes to do a Blade movie but the problem I see it calls for 3 movies over either 6 or 8 years depending on who you want to believe. Blade is not suppose to be a one and done movie.
Here is the problem I see with Mahershala Ali and his Blade is that Ali is a great actor and in high demand. He has just turned 51 and all indication are it maybe up 4 to 5 years before we see the next Blade movie and it is suppose to be a at least a 3 segment movie over 6 or 8 years. Meaning he could be in his mid 60 by the time the last movie comes out.
As I posted previously, I can see Ali being moved into the Black Panther franchise or something else where he is a larger role.
and yes here are the links for people linked to the project that have left( Now that the embargo has been lifted things are being reported)

Blade's Former Costume Designer Affirms It Could Have Been a Period Piece
At least we can thank the shelved Marvel project for Sinners' gorgeous costuming.gizmodo.com
I am curious to know if it was the 1920's setting that turned off Marvel from the movie?
I read somewhere that there's a feeling Blade might be better suited for the post-Secret Wars phase/era.
I don't see Ali being in the Black Panther franchise. He's definitely not going to be the new T'Challa as it seems they're going with an alternate universe grown up version of his son. I don't quite know what else would do there or even want to do there.
