Blake is not trading PLD and accepting responsibility for a monumentally bad trade. Outside of that, Clarke is going nowhere, he certainly isn’t getting trade to move PLD. Even Blake can’t be that wood-headed

Moore was traded and is a good player. Clarke is a great prospect. Not a (good) one.

And Clarke is a 'good' in quotations prospect like Matthews is a 'good' in quotations goal scorer

Lots of reasons for neither team to touch this, and the inclusions of those guys complicate an already dead deal

Marner is a UFA in one season. Why would the Kings give up so much for a rental?
A more likely and fair trade is Marner straight up for Doughty.

The Kings are a defense first team. Without Doughty our defense would be a big pile of poop.

Of all of those players, the one the Kings need the most is Clarke. Huge no from the Kings.

Sure but PLD is an anchor so contracts aside this wouldn't be a good move for the Leafs either.

May i ask how being worse looks like?
They already can't contain any opponents top players, especially Doughty.

We don't have a special system at all, we play mediocre defense by sacrificing all of our offense and still manage to lose.

What we really need is a brand new approach and Doughty isn't part of it, we are losing already so let's at least build a fighting chance.
