Ok finally watched it

Matthews looked arrogant
Marner looked arrogant and stupid
Keefe looked like a p***y

It was worse watching it

Keefe looks like a guy back peddling after he gets caught talking shit about the guys that can fire him.

There's more than 2 coaches in the world. Just because Keefe is struggling in his own way doesn't make Babcock magically not be a terrible coach. No other teams want him for a reason
I also don't think Babcock is too hellbent on finding work when he can sit at home with his wife enjoying life and collecting $6.25M to do nothing.

Keefe made some comments about the star players, media of course blew it way out of proportion. Keefe had a conversation behind doors with the leadership group, same as any other team. Keefe then tried to clarify his statements to the media because he saw how they and some fans have completely overreacted to something minor.

This is honestly nothing, but of course the media in Toronto is trying to make it something. I guess this is what happens when people overreact after 4 games into the season.

He should never have been fired and Dubas should never have been hired. I wish I had an alternate reality machine where I could go see this team with Babcock still in and a vet GM. Bet we would have at least hit the ECF.

You are wrong in my opinion

Wow watching Keefe back pedal so much on such small comments and lie about the true meaning is pretty pathetic ahah, so happy we have a no bullshit straight up coach like Sutter, accountability goes a long way in a team sport.
Oh boy Sutter would totally Pat this Quinn up for us for the future, in a heart beat. And for the presens time too, instantly.

It was nothing but the fact they even did what they did today has now made it something.

They all should have come out today and played dumb to all questions. The fact Keefe walked back on his words and the players said what they did made a nothing situation even more tantalizing for the frothing Toronto media.

We are grown men.. is that statement supposed to mean something? I'm not sure what the connecting thought process is .. We are grown men that take our privileged life for granted? We are grown men that don't learn from our mistakes? We are grown men that show up for the season with out purpose? We are grown men that can get the job done? We are grown men that act like children? We are grown men that have no passion for hockey? Why is it the same group of grown men need the same "get your heads out of your assess" speech every Fall and Spring?
Exactly. Sometimes silencio is the golden way to go. Just say nothing and move on, if a human being is not intelligent or wise enough to speak on that occation.

No disagreements here.

Yeah. I'm fairly confident the hiring of Dubas and the signing of Tavares has cost us a couple of deeps runs in the playoffs (thus far).

He should have been fired, he lost the room. Also true, Dubas hiring his buddy, with his training wheels, while you’re in your window, was a mistake.

I didn't even mention JT but I did post at the time of signing say the price was too steep.

Alright, can someone now pull Keefe aside and address his repeated mistakes without any progress made to them?

When was it blown out of proportion? I thought the consensus was most people agreed with Keefe and that they weren't good enough

Keefe was 100% correct in his initial statement. They get paid the big bucks, they should be able to deal with criticism that comes from it. The fact that he had to come out and say "that's not what I meant" is sad and shows the lack of accountability in this organization

And the fact that people still think this is just 4 games is crazy. People aren't upset because of a single loss to Arizona. They're upset because we haven't won a series in 6 straight attempts and are displaying the same exact issues that have plagued us in the past.

It is a stupid hockey saying been used by coaches for years .. it usually means exact opposite .. usually you'll hear your coach say "play like men not boys" .. for so many years he has heard it thru junior and pro .. it get ridiculous how many times you hear it .. most guys tune it out .. but it gets ingrained in your vocabulary

I get what you are saying but we have to remember that he lost the room during the Dubas Babcock power struggle. If Lou or a similar GM were there he likely would not have lost the room.
