Good to see. I think it's well earned. It's based on regular season play and they dominated during the regular season.
The leafs generated more percentage of shots from the cycle and the forecheck than every team in the playoffs. The issue was that there was little "rush" scoring chances. So much for that theory but dont let a good story get in the way of confirmation bias.
Sometimes you try way too hard.Since the pandemic created a once in a lifetime only, unique realignment and shortened 56 game with closed division play only regular season scenario, then overall it with have lots of *** asterisk *** attached as an anomaly denoting the footnotes and disclaimers.
An asterisk is a star-shaped symbol (*) primarily used to call attention to, indicate an omission, point to disclaimers & footnote irregularities or to stand for omitted matter.
So this years 1st and 2nd pandemic All-* (Asterisks) teams were announced today.
Now the true test will come next year when we return to normalcy of a full 82 game season and old Divs and you face all 31 other NHL teams and not just play the same 6 teams 9-10 times each if Auston and Mitch can repeat this performance. The Rocket Richard winner would have a leg up on being named to an NHL All-Star so I like Auston's chances as he is likely going to compete for that award annually. IMO

He got a movie deal in reality.I heard the Zamboni driver got a few votes
What an achievement. We all were waiting so long for such players, but ... It's really sad that we can't celebrate this. Really really sad. From a historical perspective Mitch Marner is the first Toronto Maple Leaf first team all star since Borje Salming in 1977 and only the second in 52 years since Tim Horton’s selection in 1969. Frank Mahovlich was the last Maple Leaf forward on the first team in 1963.
I have no problem celebrating it. Some people just chose not to.What an achievement. We all were waiting so long for such players, but ... It's really sad that we can't celebrate this. Really really sad.
No, it was Marner over Rantanen and Draisaitl was a distant 4th behind MacKinnon. You can't make a case for any of them because the teams have been named. Even if you had in the past, you would have chosen the wrong ones.Rantanen easily over Marner. You can make a case for Draisaitl over Matthews.
What do you mean we?What an achievement. We all were waiting so long for such players, but ... It's really sad that we can't celebrate this. Really really sad.

Stop getting in the way of people who go out of their way to go online to be really mad about a thing they have 0 control over. Typing out their narratives in all caps over and over again is really important to them, the world needs to know they figured out adding an M to Dubas makes it spell Dumbas.
LOL. The bar is "high".From a historical perspective Mitch Marner is the first Toronto Maple Leaf first team all star since Borje Salming in 1977 and only the second in 52 years since Tim Horton’s selection in 1969. Frank Mahovlich was the last Maple Leaf forward on the first team in 1963.
