Just got my tickets for London vs. Niagara Feb. 4 - looking forward to seeing Marner here again. I caught the prospects game here last year - hoping for a much better showing from Marner but still routing for the Dogs to win of course.

Nice, I'm lucky enough to live in London 8 months of the year for the past few years, so I've adopted them as my CHL team. Last year I got to see 10 games, this year I'm probably gonna do the same. Not gonna miss a Dermott vs Marner matchup once! Probably gonna see Logan Brown and Chychrun live too. Can't wait for the season to start..

I would think the Leafs have open minds on all their players.

Let's not forget they've waived some pretty high contracts in the past and made room for other players.

If Marner shows up, and destroys the competition at center he isn't going back to junior.

Seriously, what does he have to learn to be a center that can't be learned in a couple weeks? He has a tremendous HIQ and compete level, learning how to play center isn't that difficult, especially for a player that played the position all his life until the last couple seasons.

Landeskog, #2 pick, 66 OHL points and makes his NHL team in his draft year. He made it based on his compete and HIQ.

Marner's skill level much higher than Landeskog, and size isn't a problem. Too many posters have this issue with size.

Even if Marner comes in and scores a hat trick in every single preseason game, it's still the right move at this point for them to send him back to junior in my opinion. The risks just outweigh the possible benefits given his size/age and the point they're at in the rebuild. Marner may have a high compete level like Landeskog, but Landeskog was also the most nhl ready prospect according to most scouts because of his size.

Based on everything management has said about developing prospects the right way, I can't see any way Marner even gets a single regular season game this year. Let's face it, this year is going to be another gong-show full of losses. No matter how young he is or how bad the team is expected to be, the TO media/fans would still expect huge things out of him and would start calling him a bust 20 games into the season if he doesn't pile up points. It's not fair, it's just the way it is here. Let him continue to dominate the OHL and play in a winning environment for now. He may not have anything else to prove there, but it shouldn't hurt his development. Having him struggle at the NHL level and have the fans turn on him or getting injured could hurt his development. We can still ruin him in two years from now.....there's no rush :)

Dude. If he scores a Hattie every preseason game, you absolutely slot him as a first liner opening night.

If Marner has the ability to score a hat trick every night, using your example, he's rightfully got a spot on the Leafs. You wouldn't throw a Connor McDavid back to the OHL.

This. No question about it (although maybe not first line duties). It seems our fanbase would have sent Kane down too if given the chance.

It is a myth that we rush prospects.

I'm all for any prospect/Marlie to blow the socks off the coaching staff and show they deserve at least a viewing. If they play strong, and have shown they're better than others, they make the lineup.

I can see our top 4 prospects and maybe Freddy getting a chance...maybe not an NHL game, but something.

Dude - that's cool. I got a flex pack to see 6 reg. season Icedogs games against Sarnia, Erie(2), London, Oshawa, Hamilton - I'll get to see Korostelev, Dermott, Marner, and some of the 2016 draft prospects so I'm happy.

I go to more playoff games than reg. season - like seeing how teams adjust to each other in a series...

You're lucky to be in London though...

Yes 36 is a weird backwards, upside down reflection of 93.

He also wore 9 in the World junior showcase, which is an open number right now.

I wonder if they ever will allow # in the numbers like #93 instead of just 93.

They'll let him choose his number once he earns it

Damn you picked some good matchups. I was really only hoping Bracco would go to Kitchener so I could see him live as well. But I can definitely "settle" seeing all these future leafs. I mean it's cheap good hockey that's a 10 minute bus ride away, who wouldn't want to go see Marner?

I'll probably check out some playoff games this year, didn't get out last year even though I wanted to check out McDavid.

Sorry, do you pick the actual 6 games during the purchase? Or do you just show up before the game and "claim" one of the games? How does this "flex pack" deal work? I am considering doing this as well...
Thanks.

For the Icedogs you get a discount if you buy 6 games at once - any 6 games you want. There is a greater discount for 12 games and then seasons tickets is the greatest discount except for WagJag or Groupon which is normally half price.

Sounds great. We don't those deals here in London, sellouts most nights.
I've had season tics for 15 yrs. Money well spent.
Marner has been great to watch 40 plus times a year. Impressive skills and great kid with am unmatched passion.
as a Habs fan it'll be tough seeing him in TO but he'll have success. Bank it.

Completely absurd.

This isn't baseball. Teenagers play in the NHL all the time. It's fine.
