Rumor: Marner blocked a trade to Carolina for Rantanen

1.) again that’s not “trying to trade him”
2.) I mean affecting the team because they have no idea what his plans are. They didn’t know if they were trading for a Marner replacement or needing retention etc. if Marner is planning to walk, then they may have swung for a bigger C or More expensive D.

The world doesn’t revolve around your opinion. The team clearly wants an answer and was not comfortable waiting. They are the ones in the negotiations. Not you. Not me. They are the ones who are affected.

3.) for someone who doesn’t care you are spending a lot of time telling people your opinions
1. Again. They did in fact not try to trade him. They TRADED him pending his approval which he said kick rocks....so yea. Carolina even had a plan B for The Leafs which was Knies + and they said no for some reason.

2. They do know his plans. He will talk to them in the offseason. Also, If the Leafs don't have at least 10 contingency plans then they are worse shape than I thought.

3. I am aware that my opinion is not the only valid one. Neither is yours.

4. I don't care about The Leafs or Marner either for that matter. I enjoy debating hockey issues. This is a good one. Nothing mean or dirty just two different opinions going at it. Its fun!

As far as this goes, I think LA.
They can fit him in without missing a thing big.

Vegas needs to sign Hague and spent big on hill.

Dallas is out.
Florida/tampa don’t have the cap.

Edmonton is possible? If they were in on rantanen but they need to sign Bouchard.

Colorado got Rid of rantanen, he refused Carolina.

Not sure who else would be in a better spot?

Rangers? High taxes but could play with miller/zibby?
I just thought if he left San Jose, Utah or Chicago make the most sense. They have tons of cap space and young growing teams that need a star veteran. Marner would look pretty good next to Bedard or Celebrini.

I do still think he stays though...

Not sure why but every time I read Marner interviews he comes across as so insecure.

He pointed the finger at himself when he didn’t even need to. To fall on the grenade for a teammate like that is impressive.
Exactly .. Marner was asked about Matthews but he has to bring himself in to it as well but in a defensive way.... He does it all the time.

Why can he just say, 1 time, I need to be better?

Even if you don't believe it, just say the f***in thing
