Veeti playing today at 5:05 EST. against #1 UND

UND is however missing a few players gone with Team USA to the World Jr's.

Hopefully Miettinen has a better showing today, after struggling last game.

Not surprising. Leafs want to take a real good look at him in camp. Assuming his hard work over the offseason has yielded even a tiny bit of results he should be seen as the favourite for 3LW.
If he gets even a few games on the LW with the Tavares or Matthews lines he could arguably be in the running the calder if things go right. I could see him working really well with Tavares and Willy.

Even if he gets into the lineup in a 4th line capacity it's better than the alternative which currently is he just doesn't play until the OHL or AHL season get sorted out

He doesn't distribute the puck well enough to get it to Tavares or Matthews. If Kerfoot was frustrated not getting passes in the slot he would drive those guys crazy.

Kerfoot/Thornton/Spezza are ideal linemates in some capacity to be able to feed him in high danger areas and then he can just fire away.

Pretty much this

The kid looked like a shoot first type to me so I'd be looking to line him up with puck distributers, Thornton and Kerfoot look like ideal fits

LOL why is JD Greenway the worse prospect in our pool?
Do you see anything in him?

I watched his first game of the season with Maine last night. Easily the worst hockey IQ i've seen from a prospect in this pool. Has no understanding of where to stand in the D-zone, chases hits all over the ice, does not see plays developing, creates constant 2on1's against with bad pinches, etc. etc.

It's a shame because his physicality and skating were worth taking a risk on and he manhandled guys in the game I watched. Tantalizing physical tools but he also lacks consistent compete level, which surprised me. Looks like a prospect that just does not care.

Wish he was developed as a forward when he was younger, like his brother. Those tools, he had the potential to be a crazy good winger, even in a 4th line role.

Re-posting here because this thread gets way more views:

Would anyone be interested in doing a HFLeafs WJC draft (probably just copy Canada4Gold's layout) but solely for members of the Leafs board?

Currently have 2 people. Looking for a minimum 6 for me to put in the effort, with a maximum of 10. Send me a DM or quote this message if you're interested.

Yes

and you should post a thread for this

Great shift by Miettinen there. He got the puck in the offensive zone near the citcle, and made a great deke around a Omaha player, and then got tied up just on top, but got enough on the puck as he fell to keep it alive to his teammate. Seconds later, as Omaha had the puck looking to break it out, Miettinen comes from behind to steal the puck which kept Omaha pinned in their zone.

Man I'm almost certain I updated the prospects last Sunday, but it's not there. Guess I have to use the one from 2 Sunday's ago.
