I always liked the kid and had high hopes for him

Artur Akhtyamov

For some reason I had the impression he was a small keeper, and was overachieving.

I kept getting Saros/Wolf vibe type of requirements for success.

He's 6'2" (perhaps grown?), so while he isn't a tall tower like Hildeby/Stolarz.

In size Woll is 6'3", so very similar.

Perhaps it is his athletic ability that is Saros like?

Ahykamatov's stat line is crazy, 7GP 6-0-1 935 save % and 1.68 GAA

He just turned 23...

If we have to do a call up later this season, I wouldn't mind seeing him get an NHL game or 2.

Clearly goaltending is a position of wealth for us and it could be used to address an area of need.

Why?

Is it because he's on one of the worst teams in the league and getting prime minutes?
What’s the line on this kid?

Everything I’ve read makes him sound like a McMann type player with abundance of hustle and a bit more finish….

Anyone in the know care to share?

Cheers.

From the OHL website it appears that Cowan has not dressed for today’s game. Does anyone know anything about this?

With the way Arty and the Hildebeast are developing we may be able to move Woll this offseason to a goalie-desperate team to fill another need.
If stolarz keeps playing this way his contract could be 7 mil.
We have Woll signed for 3 yrs at 3 mill
Hildebeast could back up In a yr

Goaltending is one area that we can keep the cap at 3 mil

There's another way to look at it.
He took advantage of a situation that was presented before time.
I watched Friday night against a really good team london knights he scored 2 goals and one in the shutout.
He is scoring his goals in tight.
For me iam happy that our prospect realizes his opportunity.

The back up ebug for the Barracuda today was wearing leaf gear, apparently he plays for Cincinnati, Brendan Bonello, is he a prospect or something?

Beeen a while since this list had any meaning for Leafs fans.

Even if Leafs had their first, irrelevant.

Not necessarily as teams can move up or down. Packaging a player and late first to move down isn’t the out of the question
