Prospect Info: Marlies, Cyclones, and Prospect Discussion

3rd best in ppg, barely ahead of Montgomery for that after easily being their best producer last season and top 2 or 3 in the league. This in his D+2 where he should be shredding things. Its not a dis to say he isn't having a great scoring year. 7th best on the team in actual points isn't top production for the defending MVP.
Are you saying he's 3rd. in points per game, but only 7th. in overall points?

Does someone need to explain this?

He isn't a leader in the metric of ppg or in the metric of overall points so not a leading offensive producer. Whats missing?

Obviously not understanding that being 7th. in scoring on a team doesn't mean anything if you ignore how many games are involved.

Your comment:. "7th best on the team in actual points isn't top production for the defending MVP."

That's is so base.

Base? My original post said he he wasn't a top offensive producer on the club this year. The language was specific because I was talking about how the streak wasn't generating a massive scoring pace, not how talented he was.

You can be a leader in ppg or in total points like how Barkey and others were ahead of Cowan last year but he was still MVP. Agree that being 7th in scoring doesn't mean anything if you are talking about talent, but that wasn't what I said. Sorry I wasn't clear.

A team who can't score, has the leading goal scorer in the AHL, and he isn't some vet down there playing out his years, and you don't give him a shot, and in an offensive role, seems a bit odd. We have 5+ passengers up front right now.

Bring Steeves up and play him with AM or JT when back in the top 6 and give him a solid 10 games to try and show he can play.

They called up Greb and haven't played him yet just to make sure they keep plugging Reaves into the lineup. Still no smoke about solidifying the center spot either. Not sure they have any sort of of ambition to call-up the AHL leading scorer, who did well in his stint early this season to be honest. At least Minten is getting good reps but he's been really quiet.

Steeves is gonna likely move on this summer and we'll have an amazing time for the next 5 years dissecting why he never got a shot to play over Reaves and whatever else. I'm sure Dubas will get blamed for it somehow.

Domi - do we even know what position he is good at?

Anyway, Steeves must be doing something right, but it does really seem his opportunities will be with another team. Would not doubt that once Berube decides on a player it doesn't matter.
