He's been better the last 2 games, (3 assists, 2 on the power play), he's just not scoring like he can.. Wait until he starts to score again and see how this team plays.

I agree, he had a few good shots but Bryz had his number tonight. He'll get his goals sooner or later. I still don't think he'll be productive in the playoffs, he seems easy to shut down. I'd try to trade Gaborik after this year and then buy-out Richards after next year if he continues to play poorly.

It's amazing that the rangers are 11-8-2 giving how inconsistent and/or invisible Richards and Gaborik have been this year. Good thing we have Nash

He's finding a way to contribute and get on the score sheet despite a terrible scoring slump.

That is HUGE for us.

I think Gaborik will start lighting the lamp again fairly soon. I have to look at the numbers but with the way Nash is going everyone in the Eastern Conference is going to make the adjustment and start keying their top d pair and top line against him. Gaborik should be able to dominate if he's facing lesser competition.

I thought that was already going on. But either way it'd be nice to see him turn that red light on. I have faith in him but I feel like if he doesn't start soon he may be traded.

Gaborik team on ice sh% is very low compared to his usual standards st 7.98%. He is usually good for 10% team sh% when he's on the ice. He's been unlucky and in fact is controlling possession better than last year, although small sample size.

I've only been following hockey since the mid 90s, so for those older than me....can you recall any players that had the same mechanics as Gaborik? He's just so flawed from a technical perspective its really incredible that hes carved out this career and reputation.

Maurice Richard. Dominik Hasek. Wilt Chamberlain. That's just off the top of my head.

Brett Hull.

I read a quote from him in a book when I was a kid, and it went something like this: "I can't skate, I can't pass, I can't stickhandle, I can't even shoot. The only thing I can is score goals."

Dear Marian,

Why dont you use your slap shot more? Seems like everytime you do, you score.

Sincerely,
Ranger fans

Atta boy!

This, especially if he keeps the mindset of actually shooting. I don't know why he doesn't use his slapper more, that was a nice shot.

Yes that was.

He had a slap shot right before that got blocked and I thought right away, he needs to shoot like that more often.

Hope he keeps it up, Makes the Rangers a DANGEROUS team every night

I can probably post all the times hes ever used his slap shot as a Ranger (since its so small), and id bet the majority were goals.

Hes gotta be on the point on the PP. Gaborik's shot is a damn laser. USE IT MORE

Says here hes not a slap shot shooter.

If Gabby can get rolling while Nash is still doing his thing. With Cally and Stepan both stepping up their games. Hopefully things will continue to look up. Gabby has looked better over the past couple of games. If it was like Nash was in the beginning where he gets chances but not finishing is one thing but being nearly invisible is another.

I also felt like Gabby competed along the boards a little more in this game. He was trying to use his body..for once

glol at applauding a guy who can shoot a puck when given all the time in the world. Great skillset!

Classic example of only caring about production and not being able to evaluate a guys ability.

And yes, I can enjoy the win.

I didn't like a few times when he was in front of the net. He didn't have his stick down for some. But a full assessment shows he played a little better, and it paid off.

Please, tell us about his ability.
