At the time in the late 90s, he was on an up and coming team learning how to make the playoffs on a regular basis and get through the first round. He played along with Owen Nolan, Jeff Friesen, and was with Patrick Marleau getting his feet wet. His speed was undeniable and a real weapon. He brought hustle and positive vibes, and had a knack for showing up for the bigger moments. No one ever thought future HOFer, but he contributed up and down the lineup. He was well respected from early in his career as a legit middle 6 NHL contributor. The injury limited his biggest weapon, but his brain and general hockey skill kept him viable for many more years.
I’m not suprised he has done well in coaching. He’s always has the brain “gets it” such he can work with stars all the way to career “cup of tea 4th liners” and get teams to perform well.
