Value of: Marco Rossi

So the discussion is on again. Guerin is looking to trade his 23 year old 60p center because he don't wanna pay more than 5.5M per year.

Make your offer!

2025 1st (Van) or 2026 top 10 protected, 2025 2nd, Dakota Joshua.?

Not an overly aggressive offer but 15th overall, 48th overall and a big, tough winger capable of scoring 20 and an excellent pker would seem like a wild type player.

Rossi is 3rd or 4th on who I hope we trade for if all these guys were actually available, Barzal, Larkin would be my first two choices but I assume they start with a 1st and Willander.
What's with Bill not wanting to pay him? Size? Attitude?

size. He is obsessed with size. Trenin signing. Jiricek trade, Brazeau trade. Guerin sucks, he will trade Rossi and sign Brock Nelson.

I don't know what Minnesota is looking for in return, but if they really want to do this Cowan would be on the table for sure.

Because as good as Tavares still is, he is 34, the Leafs eventually are going to need a replacement at #2 center.

If they package Cowan in order to land that #2 center they should.

Rossi and Knies would be a good combo to build around.

That said I don't think Minnesota should trade him.

Peterka and Byram are already established. Was thinking some of the other parts could be the plus.
Like Peterka+Levi+1st

I fo agree with you on not trading him but since this was a "value of" thread it would be boring with zero proposals.

Jesus Christ... what were you drinking that night?

wild don't need Dakota Joshua whose a 4th liner Wild have plenty of. Dakota isn't capable of scoring 20.

What do the Wild need? (Aside from a replacement center since they seem fine with throwing Rossi out for some reason.)

If this is true it feels like a mistake
As a Wild fan, I agree, but Hynes reduced their 2nd leading scorer to 4th line, 11 min. TOI during the playoffs. Luminaries such as Freddy Gaudreau(0 points, 2 SOG) were played above him, and got 14 1/2 minutes per night, while winning 39% FO.

Rossi had 3 points whille lugging Brazeau and Trenin around on the ice, 49% FO, in his first playoff series. Kaprizov had the same amount of playoff points at the same age.

Wild clearly don't want Rossi. Makes no sense to me, as they need forwards who can score, badly. I understand he isn't a perfect player, but he scores, works hard, and hasn't even reached his prime yet.

Has Cozens been playing center or wing? Does he actually use his size or is he just a tall softy?
He does use his size and has been centring Batherson and Perron. Don't dislike him at all and am still a big fan of the trade for Norris, just can't help but want anyone from the 2020 draft plus the Ottawa angle. Sens do that and they then bring in Rossi's buddy Quinn to play on his wing with Batherson. I could really see BG liking the big "workhorse from Whitehorse" plus he's only a year older and has the same top ten draft pedigree

He’s played most of his NHL career at center, but it’s a mistake—he should be a winger. He doesn’t have the hockey IQ to play C effectively.
I’m sold. Probably too much scoring upside for Billy G’s taste though.
