But on a serious note, I think a Rossi contract will get done. Something like 3-4 years at $6-6.5M.

Unsure if cap works but I assume he will find a way to make it work if those are who he is after. Yes that is a young second pair but I personally am fine watching them grow without being forced into a defensive roll. Let two offensively talented defenseman attempt to flourish in a somewhat sheltered roll.

Trading spurgeon makes a ton of sense though I agree. I don’t hate the player but his injury history and age are not ideal.

There's a chance he likes Florida and stays, but he's also almost 30 and has made less than $25M in his career. I'm not crossing off his going money seeking.

Guess I'm not sure why Boston would do this. They just signed him to a 7 year deal. To which, he's only heading into year 2 of. He hasn't been lights out. He came out slow, but he put up reasonable numbers as the season wore on and then later in the season was fairly steady. Especially for what he was brought in for. The fans seemed pretty pleased with him after he got his footing. It's obviously not unheard of to trade a guy a year into his deal, but I don't see it as close to likely.

Lindholm is 7 years older, and is trending downward. He has scored 40+ points in his last two years. His cap hit is almost 8M, and runs for another 5 years. Trading Rossi for him would be insanity.

I'd say Rossi would be ~$1M more. Fits pretty much exactly in my Rossi contract range.

I wouldn’t trade Rossi for Lindholm, but that doesn’t mean Lindholm wouldn’t help this team either. Right handed shot. Has won over 55% of his faceoffs the last 3 seasons. Defensively responsible.

I was just saying that this reinforces that I feel pretty good about where I have Rossi contract-wise. Not so much opining on what Guerin is going to end up doing.
