If it doesn't, you have to change your name to DigitalRossi. But on a serious note, I think a Rossi contract will get done. Something like 3-4 years at $6-6.5M.

Signing Bennett and Boeser are my guesses.

Trenin-Gaedreau-Foligno
Brodin-Faber
Buium-Jiricek
Middleton-Spurgeon
Unsure if cap works but I assume he will find a way to make it work if those are who he is after. Yes that is a young second pair but I personally am fine watching them grow without being forced into a defensive roll. Let two offensively talented defenseman attempt to flourish in a somewhat sheltered roll.
Trading spurgeon makes a ton of sense though I agree. I don’t hate the player but his injury history and age are not ideal.
There's a chance he likes Florida and stays, but he's also almost 30 and has made less than $25M in his career. I'm not crossing off his going money seeking. If you want Bennett its gonna cost 8-9m, and Boeser will get 6-7m.
That is if Bennett wants to leave Florida, where he resurrected his career. I feel like he takes a team friendly deal to stay in Florida. I feel it's very unlikely to think we get both these guys, and together it's a bit out of our price range
I could see something like Rossi for E.Lindholm. Don’t know if it would be a smart move, but I think it’s realistic
I think he would trade cap to get them to fit salary wise.If you want Bennett its gonna cost 8-9m, and Boeser will get 6-7m.

A BG lowball offer incoming? I’d want to get the heck outta MN and want a trade if I was Rossi, getting treated like that. Russo said today that the Wild offered a deal and he turned it down.I’ll stake my claim: we are not going to trade Rossi.
Guess I'm not sure why Boston would do this. They just signed him to a 7 year deal. To which, he's only heading into year 2 of. He hasn't been lights out. He came out slow, but he put up reasonable numbers as the season wore on and then later in the season was fairly steady. Especially for what he was brought in for. The fans seemed pretty pleased with him after he got his footing. It's obviously not unheard of to trade a guy a year into his deal, but I don't see it as close to likely.I could see something like Rossi for E.Lindholm. I wouldn’t trade Rossi for Lindholm, but that doesn’t mean Lindholm wouldn’t help this team either. Right handed shot. Has won over 55% of his faceoffs the last 3 seasons. Defensively responsible. So you'd rather spend 8M per year on a declining 30 year old Lindholm who's coming of an 47 point campaign instead of resigning Rossi. Not to mention the injury problems lindholm has had the past 3 seasons.
Oh, he is listed 6'1, I can see it now too![]()
They’re not going to offer Rossi 7 years. Source: report that they’re not going to give Rossi more than the $7M cap hit Boldy has.5'10" 22 year old just got 7 x $6.5M after 47p in 77g up in Calgary.
I'd say Rossi would be ~$1M more. Fits pretty much exactly in my Rossi contract range.

I was just saying that this reinforces that I feel pretty good about where I have Rossi contract-wise. Not so much opining on what Guerin is going to end up doing. That would be really promising if Guerin were interested in offering Rossi a fair contract
If an offer sheet gets thrown, I don't think Billy matches. That said, I feel like (and hope) we see Rossi on the team for many more years.Andre Tourigny is a huge fan of Marco Rossi. With that in mind, if Utah offer sheeted Rossi, would the Wild match?
I'm thinking something in the $6.8 to $9.1 million range where the compensation is 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks.
One possibility I could see from the Wild is trading Rossi for Durzi.Andre Tourigny is a huge fan of Marco Rossi. With that in mind, if Utah offer sheeted Rossi, would the Wild match?

This would only be in the circumstance that Guerin decides to move on from Spurgeon though.
They’ve already got kind of a dirty version of Schmaltz in Hartman (RH, ~30 yo, smallish build, center/wing hybrid, mediocre FO%).Would Minnesota have interest in Nick Schmaltz?
I don't think they'd match. Guerin's last reported offer was 5 x $5M. I guess there's worse things to have than Utah's unprotected 1st in the McKenna draft.Andre Tourigny is a huge fan of Marco Rossi. With that in mind, if Utah offer sheeted Rossi, would the Wild match?

They traded all of those picks for Jiricek to be Spurgeon's replacement. In the unlikely scenario that Guerin does move Spurgeon for futures in a separate trade though, I think it’d make a lot of sense for the Wild to target someone like Durzi as the replacement.
I'm not sure Rossi makes to the offer sheet period though. Guerin is probably going to want to know if he has the full amount of cap space to use on July 1.
It's a very light suspicion, yes.Are you suggesting they trade him before July 1? Maybe a draft day deal?
I agree, but that’s still a few years from being a reality. In a “win-now” mode, I think any changes to the defense (Brodin/Spurgeon) requires a NHL replacement to be brought in.They traded all of those picks for Jiricek to be Spurgeon's replacement.
He was his coach in Ottawa for two years, the man always had Rossi‘s back. I remember a great interview Russo had with him about Rossi during the first year Rossi tried to make the Wild roster (and failed). For Rossi it would probably be great to reunite with his junior coach. Certainly no trust issues there. If the business side works out this could be a match made in heaven.Andre Tourigny is a huge fan of Marco Rossi. With that in mind, if Utah offer sheeted Rossi, would the Wild match?
